I reported the spammer and scammer. He belongs in the slammer. Every few months, we get a "new member" who uses DRC as a site for free advertising. On another site there was a scammer who posted several ads offering iPhones or computers, always in lots of 10 or more. I replied to each of his posts, warning people that the iPhones and computers are likely stolen or counterfeit and telling them that if they want an iPhone or computer they should get them from an authorized dealer, not from an anonymous scammer. I also urged everyone to not click on the links in the scammer's posts.

Today I learned the Chinese word for "scammer": 骗子 (piànzi).

Odds are that they only want access to your credit card. Its highly doubtful that they would actually ship anything, stolen, fake, or otherwise.

As 98 mentioned, don’t click any goofy links.
It also can’t hurt to make sure that you have a strong password that isn’t shared with other sites, especially financial sites.

I am posting this simply because I find it interesting. I don't want it to become a political discussion/break any rules.

Biden posted a video about Medicare. He said that big pharma has been price gouging ("Medicare couldn't negotiate the price of drugs"). Then he included footage of Trump saying the exact same thing. I thought, "Wow, he's saying that he and Trump are on the same page on the issue. Interesting..."

Soon after, he said Republicans blocked the Act to change it, and I thought, "Ahh. That makes sense. He's pointing out that the other party only blocked it because their party isn't in office." I found that very interesting.

Disclaimer: Democrats would do the same thing. Block something good Trump was trying to push through. Not pointing fingers at any one side.

Yes, sadly that's what our government has become. When the affordable care act's provision for mandatory coverage was introduced, it wasn't by the Obama administration; it was by Republican Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, for the state of Massachusetts. And I always thought the concept of requiring everybody to have insurance (as opposed to freeloading off of hospitals and other people's plans) was more of a conservative concept.

One more example (before we get into trouble) is Trump's border wall funding (I won't comment on what I think of the concept). For his first 2 years in office, he had a majority in both chambers of congress, so there was no impediment to passing whatever funding they wanted. But congress (on both sides) didn't want to approve the allocation of money for it. Then the midterms came along, and the balance of power changed. And suddenly, the thing that wasn't passed before was suddenly characterized as being held-up by the people just elected.

The state of Michigan website for architect licensing has a sample application form.
Instead of listing John Doe or something, they list Art Vandelay. :clap2:
Don't tell me that, it endears me to the MI architect community...of course they're cooler than the OH community.

I wonder if the import/export community has the same sense of humor.

Sometimes in the shower, the shower curtain keeps crowding my space.
So I googled to find out why that happens.

"Even scientists don't know why it happens. One theory is that temperature differences inside and outside the shower lowers the air pressure around the curtain, sucking it toward the water. Another is that the shower spray creates a vortex with lower air pressure at the center that draws the curtain to it."

WAIT. Stop right there. It's 2022 and scientists haven't figured this out yet?

Or is Google just lazily giving me a plot answer. Likely.

Wikipedia cites 6 possibilities but no definitive answer.

Weird.

I assumed both those theories were contributors. But let's let Hectic figure it out.

Clearly there is a need for a mega million dollar study on this.

I always thought it was from the hot air rising toward the fan and over the curtain bringing cool air in from below. I guess science proves me stupid…..again…
Didn't know it happened with cold water too.
I’ve got a curved curtain rod (that’s not a medical condition you pervs) that helps. I also leave a gap at the lower end of the curtain opposite of the shower head that seems to help quite a bit.

I was going to post the wiki page for Peyronie's disease, but it was a bit too graphic.

I have a straight curtain and no gap at the bottom, but I'm fine. I have plenty of clearance above the curtain, and the curtain is adjacent to the shower head (not opposite). I've experienced this before, but not here. It would seem that one requirement (to have the problem) is a constant source of fresh air.
