The term "billy club" dates from 1848 and originally was what burglars called a crowbar. Prime Minister Robert Peel established London's first Police Department in 1829. The officers were called "bobbies" in his honor and in the 1850s their truncheons became known as "billy clubs." I don't know why, though. The truncheons were made of wood, not metal, and they weren't used for prying windows open. As for the "old timey word," try this:

double also, screw those anti obama people who stole the name to protest a few years back. i dug obama. i don't really remember clinton and i was born in 83 so i only got the last of reagan's term as a baby so i think obama was the best president of my life. and he killed bin laden, that guy was the worst.

i didn't like how he or maybe kerry stated they were drawing a red line w/syria and then backed down.

i like to think of myself as smart but i may be less than smart. you guys here may be smarter than me but i still think i'm smarter than the general public.
 
ate all the food with my fingers like an animal. now i have to wash my hands and my keyboard has maple syrup all over it. so a bit of a lose-lose situation.
