So starting Monday, I want you to eat nothing but 3 tacos a day, and we'll check-in with you on Friday to see how you're doing.

You obviously don't understand much about nutrition. And that's fine, because you know a lot about other things. But it should disqualify you front preaching about obesity.

ok youre right, i looked up the single taco nutrition facts. so just move over to mcdonalds. get 2 mcdoubles and a salad per day and you have enough to survive and stay thin at a very low cost. also, staying thin is not easy, thats why everyone is fat. everyone has the ability to be thin they (myself included) are just too lazy. my overall point was that it is just upsetting to me to see two obese people bitch about how hard it is to save the money to eat.

They were bitching about a rude comment at a jewelry store. The rest of the bitching seems to have been you railing on them because you think they are fat.

Where did they do that? I don't see it in the image you posted.

i think they are fat?

its not a judgment call. those are two overweight people.

and i made clear in my original post i was heartbroken about the shitty store clerks.

And? This means they are not rich. They don't have a huge wealth of savings.

overweight people get no sympathy from me for their struggle to get food. if it truly was a struggle they wouldn't be overweight.

Let's look up your weight history on the Fantasy Fatball Thread.

Point being, it's not a simple or fair thing to directly compare weight with income. There's too many factors Involved.

I'll leave you alone about it now. Everybody has a right to express their own opinion.

i never claimed to be thin. i also stated that getting thin is tough. im also not rich. im not living in poverty or anything but id say im solidly working class. my point was just that everybody knows how to be thin. they (and me) just dont want to do it for whatever reason. and you will never see me complaining about how money is too tight to afford to eat like the people in my original post.

that gets me to my 3rd point. i dont understand how any non mentally challenged adult in an even somewhat urban area of america could possibly starve. the only way a person like that could starve is if they choose to do so...like spend money on drugs instead of food. if i became homeless tomorrow i would not starve. i could panhandle $4 per day. and thats 4 mcdoubles. and thats not starving.

There are many fallacies in your arguments. One is that obese people spend large amounts of money on food compared to fit people, which is 100% wrong. It's costs much more to buy better quality, healthy food. The quantity of food that an obese person buys is not significant greater, cost-wise. My point about the 3 tacos per day is that nobody can live an enjoyable life, while eating so little and so infrequently. It's just ignorant to tell someone to limit their eating to a few mouthfuls of food per day.

So that's bitching about how hard it is to save money to eat? That just sounds like a description of their lives to me.

I'm rich and healthy, and I'm here to tell you it's much easier to maintain a healthy weight when you are affluent.

I wouldn't give you a cent. In fact, I'd take some days off from my cushy job and stand in front of you with a sign that says "Don't give this judgey bitch a cent" just so you would starve.

In Toronto cheapest apartment (bachelor) is about $500/month. Less if you get the roaches and rats to pay their fair share. Minimum wage in Ontario is $11.40/hour. This translates to $1824/month before taxes. Take away 30% for taxes and CPP minimum. Now we are at $1276.80/month less $5oo for rent = 776.80. Transit will probably cost you $132/month (TTC) just to get to and from work. That leaves us $644.80. This covers food and clothing. Of course if you go shopping, you are hopping on the bus so add $3 / ride. If you say 'just take the car', you are adding $300/month for insurance + cost of gas. Of course, I am assuming you are living alone. What if you are a single parent with a family? Do you think you can feed a family on about $400/month? Oh and right, you want healthy food that does not add weight. Good luck with that.

(And yes, you can get something walking distance from your work. But you would pay much more.)

i agree with ya until the last few lines.

if you are a single parent whose fault is that? ok yea there can be fall from grace scenarios, but mostly you are talking about people who had no business having a kid in the first place. so i will have sympathy for the child but not the adults. believe it or not (im guessing you jackasses will not) but i get laid from time to time. guess what, even when i am shitfaced i ALWAYS know enough to be prepared with contraception cause god knows im nowhere near financially or emotionally equipped to have a kid. and im no shining example of how to live right. this is simple stuff that anyone who even slightly cares, knows. same goes with diet. now i know how to be thin and/or eat healthy and SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE! but since that effects no one but me i just dont care enough to follow through with it.

You're digging yourself into an ever deeper hole. Food is 2nd only to housing for monthly expenses. I make a good income, yet I bitch about the $200/week we spend on food for the 3 of us.

I don't know what's hard to understand about the cost of living for most families.
