The Eagles Nest

Okay, the bright side here is that letting up only 16 points to any NFL team, even if they're one of the two worst in the league is very respectable.

The very scary downside is that we were only able to score 20 against the browns and it was a tough game. That does not give me confidence going forward. We have the Giants and jags the next two weeks so we very well may wind up five and two. But then I think once we face the Bengals 3 weeks from now, even a shitty Bangles is better than this current Eagles team.

Hopefully that can change over the next couple weeks.

You looked much better than the Cowgirls this week.

Watching the cowboys get beat so bad that they gave up and put in their backup quarterback was perhaps the greatest feeling I've had in all of 2024 and I'm not exaggerating.

And yes I know he hit his hand on a helmet but if they had any chance he would have played through that. They gave up.

So everybody in Philly media is talking all about how sirianni was acting like a bitch by clapping back at the fans who were chanting at halftime fire siriani and then when he won at the end of the game yelled at fans in the stands.

I disagree. I like that sirianni wears his emotions on his sleeve. When it comes to football, if I'm going to be an Eagles fan yelling about how I think he should be fired your right to yell back at me. Go fuck yourself. I just beat the browns.

Sirianni has lots of issues as a head coach and now that he's been a little bit neutered with his coordinators having more power than he, He's trying to establish his role... And he usually makes mistakes when he does that. Basically what I'm saying is when he calls a play, it's it's the wrong play.

I'm not going to fault the guy for clapping back at asshole Philly fans. I'm proud to be an asshole Philly fan cuz I care so much about this stupid fucking football team and I want a coach who will get back in my face when I'm being an asshole about it because he cares even more.

My boy Jake is in a slump missing two field goals like that. I knew this was happening. I know you can't believe me because I didn't post about it before now, but I definitely talked to Pam about this. He hasn't been tested this year at all. He basically had one long field goal all year. It was like a 57-yarder and he missed it. Besides that, he's had no real tests and he's coming off of signing a huge contract. He's making $6 million a year. He's the second highest paid kicker in the league after Justin Tucker in Baltimore who's also in a slump this year.

Jakey boy is my favorite guy on the team. I hate seeing him Miss like this. It fucking rips my heart out

Jalen needs to be checked for a concussion. I'm surprised nobody is talking about this. There were two plays now where he's banged his head on the field going down.

There was a trick play where they lost 14 yd and Jalen got tackled and smashed his head into the ground on his way down and just now with like 20 seconds left in the half he was trying to pitch the ball out to an open receiver for like a 8-yard touchdown and his gridiron smashed straight into the grass when he was going down.

Okay, I'm not the only one who noticed it. He was in the medical tent with like 5 seconds left in the half. This sideline reporter mentioned it. I'm glad they figured it out and it's not just some asshole from Florida watching the game who figured out someone should check on his head.

Holy shit jakey boy now missed an extra point so we're only up by two. A field goal wins it. There's 12 minutes left so tons of time but what the fuck Jake? I think maybe he's got the yips.

That was a close game until the 4th quarter Saquon took over.

Six wins in a row sole possession of the top seed in the NFC East. Let's fucking go Birds!

Saquon is probably the best off-season pickup in the league this year.

I'd say it's between Saquon and Henry. Who knew 30-year-old Henry had anything left in the tank? 30 is usually the cutoff for running backs.

Saquon is 27 so he should have at least two more seasons after this one and we signed him to a 3-year deal. So, we should really try to make the most of his last few years with pro bowl caliber talent. Get our money's worth out of that $12 million a year guaranteed.

Also, it's kind of neat how this year running backs are showing how they are totally worth franchise contracts. It was just the last season that everybody was saying running backs have lost value in the open market.

The Ravens pulling out that win yesterday was big for the Eagles. It would not be good for my birds to go to Baltimore with the Ravens on a two-game losing streak. They would be way too hungry. Either way, this is going to be one of the biggest tests of the season so it will be a fun game to watch. But also stressful.

I hope you can take out Baltimore.

Yeah it would be with for both of us and with with Detroit not slowing down we need to keep our foot on the gas in order to have a chance that first week bye.

I was thinking about how a Baltimore loss can help the Steelers.

I was hoping for some commentary here, as I was watching the Eagles-Commanders game. But alas, no.
He is likely pouting.

It was the first game this year where a team that commits 5 turnovers won the game.

They lost it when on their final drive they were trying passing and not running. They have Barkely and they should have just ran him up the field and burned clock. By passing and not completing they saved clock for Washington's final drive.

It screwed the Eagles chances of home field advantage. The division is also not clinched. 2 division games remain. Suspect they will win one of them (Giants) for sure.

The loss of Hurts hurts them.

We had zero championships in my lifetime until the Phillies won it in 2008. Before that it was the sixers in June of 1983 and I was born in December of 1983 so I wasn't alive for that championship.

Then it was the really important. One 2017 season Eagles super bowl against the fucking pats. That was goddamn glorious and I've watched that game a million times. I literally just watched it all the way through about a week ago.

And now here we go round two against the Chiefs. It's fucking hard to bet against the Chiefs because they always win, but the Eagles always find a way to win too. So I mean we beat the Juggernaut once before and we're not going 0 and 2 against these flyover assholes.

Nick may have lost control over in-game play-to-play management and I mean he obviously doesn't call any of the plays but what he does right what none of us doubters such as myself realized in the off-season when we were all saying he was neutered by Howie is that the team fucking loves him. The players love him.

Sirianni will go to bat for any one of his players. If his players fuck up he will take the heat for it. He will even make up lies about how their screw-ups were his bad calls on plays just to protect them and that's why every player to a man talks about how Nick is there. Either die.

This is the new NFL you can have a defensive coordinator like fangio who's an old man who doesn't care about any of the personal shit the players are into and just fucking rides them hard... And yeah that gets us the number one defense in the league but without siriani for those same players to come to and express their honest feelings We wouldn't have the team we have right now that's going to fucking beat the shit out of this stupid fucking Kermit the frog run Kansas City fucking Chiefs.

You know how much I fucking worry about the Eagles all goddamn year long and every fucking week in between games. And oh my God, we make it to the playoffs and those worries are exponentially greater....

Throughout the playoffs I have listened to at least 2 hours of podcasting about the Eagles playoffs every single day. There's a WIP guy who does a daily morning update where he goes over all the matchups between the Eagles and whoever they're facing and then that same guy does another hour with the producer of the morning show where they more casually discuss what's going on with the birds.

I don't know why I care so much. I'm a 41-year-old man. A group of physically exemplary 20 and early 30 somethings fight other groups of similarly talented people to move a ball over a line. That should rationally not be something that makes me this emotional...Yet it does and I can't help it. I don't know it's something that's ingrained in me.

Now we have a chance win the only thing that really matters. And when It happens it will be the second time in my 41 years I get to witness too an Eagles championship and oh my God I can't wait.

Fly Eagles fly on, the road to victory!!!
