The Eagles Nest

Yea right? If you're like me you hate your division rival the most, with a burning passion. Dallas for me, Ravens for you. The the other teams in your division, then the good teams in your conference.

I don't really care about AFC teams. I mean I didn't like NE cause they beat us in SB XXIX. But besides that I don't really care about AFC teams unless they play the eagles in the regular season. I guess I like the Ravens cause they were the Browns and Colts...that's a cool history. I kinda like Miami since I live here. I like Cleveland and I used to like Oakland cause they have amazing fans. And I dig the bills cause they have the best fans in the league after the eagles.

I also dig the Steelers cause an all PA Superbowl would be cool.

See? So none of what I just wrote about liking AFC teams makes sense, i can kinda like division rivals and I don't care..when it comes to the AFC it doesn't really matter.
You are right. I hate the Ravens and the Bagels. I want to hate the Browns but they are so bad and unlucky it's kind of hard. Plus they were Mrs. IRBS's team.

I like Washington/Giants/Pillys. But that is my response to the anybody but Dallas team in that division.

You're a split division family? You're right it's hard to hate the browns cause no matter what good things happen to that organization, they always find a way to suck. It's really kinda impressive how good they are at being disappointing. Like if you hired a GM and made his job to get you a llosing team he probably just by chance would have a playoff win once in a while. Yet the Browns try...every year.

All that being said in my last post...being a split division family cannot be easy. I know it's the browns but it's still a division rival like for me it would be if like Pam was a die-hard Redskins fan. I mean yeah they suck and they're not really something I concern myself with. But I would question like everything about her moral fiber that she chose to be a Redskins fan.

Did Mrs. Skiing grow up right around Cleveland because that might be the only excuse. If you grow up in the city then you can be a fan and it's understandable. But if she chose it as like an adult woman, I mean they've got great fans. But who chooses to be a browns fan? You're born into it and then you're just stuck with it and that's why they're such good fans because they're always going to get disappointed so they may as well fucking go crazy along the way.

She grew up in WV/east OH area. It was either Steelers, Bagels or Browns although the Steelers were closer. Being a Browns fan losing to the Steelers was not liked but not unexpected. She was also a Winnipeg Jets fan in hockey which as far as I can tell are the Cleveland Browns of hockey. Not really a rival to the Leafs but still a different team. Bottom line we didn't let the sports define us. It was a fun rivalry.

When was this the late '70s early '80s maybe? I think you're like one generation in front of me so that sounds about right but I could be wrong.

Anyway, the reason I ask is because I totally respect the misses for not bandwagoning on the steel curtain if it was late '70s Early '80s when she became a real fan.

However, who would have guessed that her entire life would just be disappointment when it comes to football. That's a huge bummer man. It is hard to not root for the browns. They are the red-headed stepchild of the NFL.

At least the Lions had Barry sanders.
They have hope this year.

The browns just have each other as fans to commiserate. Pick a decade that the browns existed and you can make an argument that's when hope was lost . And I think that makes The fans hard and passionate and awesome fans

Yes, she was the same age as me. She would have been the fans of the first Browns before they became the Ravens as well as Browns 2.0. The records and the luck stayed with the new franchise.

So AJ Brown is out with a hammy that he got in practice. Probably best to keep him out now as to not make it worse later in the year.

Even without AJ, the Eagles need a definitive win. As one of my podcast guys says they need style points. It's been way too many games where after the Eagles win we have to justify how it was a good win because it was close and dirty. I need like 35-14 tomorrow. All the talk is about how Kirk isn't fully recovered because he wasn't under center at all in week one and that's his bread and butter. A not 100% Kirk who is known to screw it up in prime time... If we can't definitively be the falcons I will be a bit upset.

Also all eyes are on Bryce huff. He's the de. We traded with the Jets for Reddick and we paid him a lot and he was not looking good in Brazil. So he really needs to make some noise because right now he's getting fewer snaps than Brandon Graham who is in his retirement year.

My son alerted to me this before 1PM today so I was able to bench him and replace with a bench WR.

So they run up the whole field getting 5-10 yards to run. Then on 4th and 4 they try some stupid ilconceived passing play?

This game is not where I'd like it to be. 1 point lead and only 1 TD in the half is not great.

Baun is having another very good game and Jalen and Saquon both have had some great runs.

It was a very exciting game. Sorry JDHK, you came out on the wrong side.

On a good note, I won my fantasy week.

Well fuck.

If Saquon caught that ball on 3rd down this game was over.

That final Atlanta drive was embarrassing for our defense.

Now we have to go to New Orleans who have scored like 90+ points over the past 2 weeks...that's not gonna be fun.

To be fair, think there was only 2 drives the whole game which did not produce points. The second last Atlanta drive where they turned it over on downs and the drive at the beginning that Philly did not go for the chip shot FG and did not convert the 4th down. I guess also the kneeldowns to end the first half and second halfs. Did I miss a punt?
