I have long been a fan of ProClip Mounting System  - Choose Your Country they offer solutions for just about every kind of car and device. They have a two part system that consist of a vehicle mount and a device holder.

The thing that I like best is not only are they very study and great looking they install in minutes and you don’t have to take the dash apart. If you can work a screwdriver you have what it takes to install this.
I have long used these in my car for cell phones. I love that phone is secure, charging and always visible to me without having to look down.
Sadly they do not make a model specifically for the Slacker, but I found that Item Number 848636 – Padded Adjustable Holder with Tilt Swivel for Ipods works great. Because it will adjust from 2.3 inches wide to 3.2 inches wide.
Notice that all the buttons are still accessible.
