60's Gold plays the most golden oldies. It should be called W60's Gold or K60's Gold.
There were so many good ones to pick from today "The Night Has A Thousand Eyes" or "Good Morning Starshine"

But it was this one that was another one of my favorites on Solid Gold Saturday Night

I met Ian Whitcomb twice – once when he was part of a vaudeville show at the Alex Theatre in Glendale and once when he performed at a local library. Both times he played ukulele and sang Twelfth Street Rag, Hello Ma Baby, Oh You Beautiful Doll, Alexander's Ragtime Band and other ragtime hits. Both times I asked why he didn't sing You Turn Me On. "It isn't a ragtime song," he replied. "But it was your biggest hit!," I reminded him. But both times he did sing Where Did Robinson Crusoe Go With Friday On Saturday Night, which was a #6 hit for Al Jolson in July 1916. (Billy Murray and Ethel Levey also recorded the song that year.) Whitcomb's recording of the song reached #101 on Billboard's Bubbling Under chart in December 1966.

I'm really liking 60's Gold when I go biking, So many good oldies.

I heard this one twice. In the car when I went to get my Sunshine meal. Then since I put the app on pause, I heard it again when I resumed biking. I think my college friend introduced me to this song

The Lovin' Spoonful's Nashville Cats peaked at #8 on the Hot 100 in January 1967. I like the B-side better. Full Measure stalled at #87 on the Hot 100 but reached #8 on the KHJ Boss 30. KHJ never played Nashville Cats because it sounded too country.

Heard on 70's on 7. "Hitchin A Ride" released in 1969 but peaked in 1970. Where as the other day I heard "I'm Just a Singer in a Rock n Roll Band" Moody Blues, a 70's hit on 60's Gold

This viral duo is now getting airplay on SiriusXMU. And I heard Dave Grohl's a big fan. It's really off-the-charts crazy, how they are everywhere.

So here's the deal. They're from Quebec. Their name is Angine de Poitrine (which translates to angina of the chest). They wear costumes and use pseudonyms, so nobody really knows who they are.

The music is basically instrumental, and to me, it sounds a lot like old-school fusion or prog rock. People call it math rock, because they use microtonal instrument tuning. The guitarist uses sequencers to lay down rhythm and bass lines, and then riff over it. And the drummer somehow keeps up with it all. At a minimum, you have to credit the guitarist with amazing foot dexterity.

He's A Rebel (written by Gene Pitney) and the follow-up single, He's Sure The Boy I Love, were sung by Darlene Love and the Blossoms. Phil Spector put the Crystals' name on the label because in 1962 very few people had heard of Darlene Love or the Blossoms and he thought He's A Rebel would be a bigger hit if the label credited a group that had already had two other hits (There's No Other Like My Baby and Uptown). So the Crystals had to learn the song and sing it in concerts – and I wonder if fans complained, "They sound really different than the way they sound on the record."

Gene Pitney recorded the song in 1962 as She's A Rebel. It remained unreleased until 1990 when it appeared on the Anthology (1961-68) album.

I've still been on a 60's Gold kick. With the inclement raining conditions, I haven't made the switch to Spring music yet.
I heard this one driving home then on the app. There seems to be a 3 to 4 song difference between the satellite and the app

First time I heard this song was on my K-Tel Four Seasons Greatest album. It isn't a well-known Four Seasons song. I don't even think it was referenced in "Jersey Boys" But it was one of my favorites

Tell It To The Rain peaked at #10 on the January 21 1967 Billboard Hot 100 and #12 on the Cash Box Top 100 that same week. On KHJ in Los Angeles, it debuted at #30 on the December 21 1966 Boss 30. From there it moved to 28, 26, 24 and off. It reached #18 on the KFWB Fabulous Forty.

It may surprise you – and maybe not – that nobody else ever recorded the song in English. Sandro, an Argentinian trio led by Roberto Sánchez Ocampo, recorded a Spanish-language version, Dile A La Lluvia for their 1967 Beat Latino album.

When I went on my bike ride this morning, I started with 60's Gold, as it was getting sunnier and calm, I switched to The Coffeehouse.
I now have hit 1500 miles on my e-bike going into my 2nd spring/summer.

I heard this one before my channel switch. I first heard shortly after high school, A coworker at the grocery store, who was 10 years older than me, let me borrow his British Invasion album. It had a lot of good artists: Cilla Black, Sandie Shaw, The Springfields, Swinging Blue Jeans. And it had Billy J Kramer and Dakotas "Little Children" and "Bad To Me"

John Lennon wrote Bad To Me for Billy J. Kramer & The Dakotas and it became their first number-one hit in the UK. It went to number one on August 22 1963 and stayed in the top spot for three weeks. Here is John's demo, featuring George Harrison on acoustic guitar:
