So what do you call replicas like the little Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, or Venice?
So I haven't posted here in 2 1/2 years. I got tired of featuring my favorite new music that (mostly) nobody cared about. I will probably get back to putting up some new music again, but not now. BTW, as Sadchild seems to be discovering these decade-old threads for the first time, I'd highly recommend he look through this one, if he wants an idea of what's been happening in music in the 21st century.
Anywho, I thought it'd be fun to highlight bands that history has seemed to overlook. As I was putting this together, I realized I had several 90's grunge tunes, so I decided to make that the theme.
The Swedish band Salt made the Billboard charts with their album Auscultate. The song Bluster may have been their only hit, but the album is full of good tunes, including this one
Salt – Honour Me (from Auscultate)
And here's their hit from that album
Salt - Bluster
Dandelion was a high energy band from Philly, who only put out the album Dyslexicon. Weird-out was the charting hit, but here's another good one
Dandelion – Trailer Park Girl (from Dyslexicon) (Philly)
And here's the song you'll probably recognize
Dandelion – Weird-Out
Elastica from England scored several hits on their debut album, here's two of them
Elastica – Stutter
Elastica – Connection (Letterman Show)
Finally, Chicago band Veruca Salt was seen as a bit of a joke, but they put out some serious grunge, aside from their hit Seether. Here's two more from American Thighs.
Veruca Salt – Get Back
This one is long and emotional, it pays off if you hang-in there
Veruca Salt - 25
It's my tongue-in-cheek way of suggesting that this thread contains many of my favorite bands and songs of the last 2 decades. I think it's worth exploring.PS: "if he wants an idea of what's been happening in music in the 21st century" .... I didn't already?
Jennifer Trynin was A Boston artist who released the album Cockamamie in 1994. Better Than Nothing was the big hit off that album. Listen to her guitar sound on this live performance.
Jennifer Trynin - Better Than Nothing
a nice flanger effect to fatten up the sound and give it that watery effect.
The pedals on a piano are simple levers that control dampers on the strings to control reverb. The floor pedals for a guitar can do anything, they're electronic. They can change the sound, reverb, effects, anything.so you can play and that is really cool. i'm jealous. i think aaron can too? either way it is awesome.
what do those foot pedal things that trey uses all the time do? i somewhat understand what they do with a piano...make notes sound different. is that how he can hold one note for like 30 seconds?
