Landslide was written by Stevie Nicks. Fleetwood Mac recorded the song for their 12th album, cleverly titled Fleetwood Mac and released on July 11, 1975. Their first album, released on February 24, 1968, was also titled Fleetwood Mac. A live version of Landslide from Fleetwood Mac's 1997 album The Dance reached #51 on the Hot 100 in August 1998. The Dixie Chicks' 2002 remake got to #2 on the country chart and #7 on the Hot 100.
Landslide has been recorded by more than 170 artists including Bush, Ricki Lake, Ricky Duran, Ward Thomas, Stacey Kent, Michelle Schmitt, Chrissy Metz, Wendy Crowe, Kelsea Ballerini, Ann Hampton Callaway and the Smashing Pumpkins. I like this version by the Blue Eyed Bettys – Daniel Emond on banjo, Sarah Hund on fiddle and Ben Mackel on guitar – from their Covered Up album, released May 31, 2016. The album also includes remakes of Bill Withers' Ain't No Sunshine and the Beatles I've Just Seen A Face. This video was made with the inexpensive and unimaginative "stand-in-front-of-a-single-camera-and-don't-move" technique.
