US born children of immigrants, so-called anchor babies.
No, Dems think it's better that everyone get aid money; Repubs are the ones trying to make a point, using people's lives.

The whole thing is idiotic, since PP already does not get any federal funding for abortions, and never will. But republicans feel they need to cut funding for everything else they do, because saying so will garner support from their Christian-right constituents.

oh ok...i looked that up trump did have some odd things to day about anchor babies last year. youre right.

look i agree that PP should get the money but the fact is thats not going to happen. so the gop can bend and allow 1 organization to get funding or the dems can bend and allow ALL BUT 1 organization to get the money. seems to me like in this situation the dems are the ones who should bend.

What legal standing is there to deny Zika funding to Planned Parenthood? Why should the most obstinate minority dictate federal funding?

is there a legal standing prohibiting congress from choosing to send the money to the organizations they feel are the best options?

I don't understand the question. Republicans in congress are refusing to use an existing major channel for contraceptives because they want to appeal to the religious right. Planned Parenthood is legally allowed to perform abortions, and also legally allowed to spend federal dollars on contraceptives.

so its all or nothing in your opinion. how is nothing a better outcome?
It's all or nothing for both sides. Republicans and Democrats are both refusing to budge. One of them is willing to let Zika spread because they hate abortion, even though it is a legal right. They are trying to use a disease to overturn the Supreme Court.

you asked if there was a legal reason to deny them...im just saying there is no more legal reason to deny them than there is to be forced to fund them.

as to your second point, now im just repeating myself. one group says funding for all but one and the other group says no funding at all. yes they both refuse to budge but its not nothing for both sides. its only nothing for the dems.

No, that's what I'm saying. There is no legal reason to deny funding Planned Parenthood. There are legal reasons to fund them.

It is also nothing for the Republicans. Otherwise they would fund Planned Parenthood.

Without adding to the polarization here, I just want to point out the following. Bills are being fought over constantly. So to look at this bill in an isolated fashion, and think that accepting a partial agreement is better than no agreement, is to ignore the long-term impact of backing-down every time. This is true for both sides.

We're 2 months away from Election Day everybody.
It will be tempting to make more comments about politics as we get closer, and more confident about our decisions. (And begin to lose patience with those that can't see with our clarity.)

We will more strict about political posts the closer we get.

If you need to get it off your chest, take it someplace else.

They don't ban people anymore. Don't have to since they usually get pissy and leave on their own.
