As it's explained in some circles, it would be a form of universal income that doesn't disallow someone from working. It would also, if such a scenario would come to fruition, be funded by the revenues generated by technology that replaced people in a particular industry. It could be funded by just consolidating the myriad of social welfare programs that would no longer be needed under such a scenario. You could still work if you choose to do so, and if the opportunity is there. Nice idea if you're not getting into specifics, If they can make the economics work, it could be a consideration.
