It's about $1200 right now and has an automatic movement. They will start making the battery movement in about a year. The price will drop then. If work picks up I'll get myself a nice birthday present this summer.

I think my wife would have an automatic movement if I bought a $1200 watch!

Quite some hobby you boys have. If any of you are heirless (not hairless, hEirless), PM me for the correct spelling of my name. :p

Show me a shot of the watch on your wrist like mine.

I'm impressed by the sheer number of actual "watch on my wrist" photos being posted in here. Impressive............

Patience, patience... I've been working all week so I haven't had time to take any photos. Here are couple of quick snaps that I took 5 minutes ago (I was in a hurry so they're not the best shots, first photo has a bad angle... But, they should be good enough to share) :icon_biggrin:

I'll take more photos if necessary when I have a day or two off.

Good deal

That's the great thing about quartz watches: They don't lose/gain time and it runs on a battery.

I still like mechanical watches and I think they are more fun to play with, but I would definitely sport that Timex. :p

I can appreciate mechanical watches in a steampunk kind of way. I just can't afford the kind of bling you guys are showing off!

(DAB, take down if necessary. I'm not trying to spam, but those are two good sources to check out if you want to learn more about mechanical watches)

I trusted ya.

No Rollies in the stable, but maybe I'll take a shot of the kids over the next few days. I'm on vaca. Got nothing else to do.

Fascinating. I had no idea. I thought there were only online communities for the things that *I'm* interested in. :p

The point is that if you look, you will find top-notch reps that are more affordable (some even sub-200) :p

This watch was expensive for a reason, but there are plenty of other watches out there besides Rolex.

Panerai, Breitling, Tag Heuer, Omega...

I think Bond wore an Omega in Casino Royale.

I can dig it.

I am wearing a WalMart special. When my watch dies, I go to WalMart, plop down about $70 and pick the watch that fits the bill.

However, given that my phone does everything my watch used to do now, my next watch will be the $10 special or no watch at all.
