I'm canceling (actually not renewing) as of the 17th of this month. Reasons?
1. Slacker G2 and Slacker service makes Sirius/XM look like amateur hour.
2. Sirius/XM music changes. No BackSpin, no Disorder, no Punk, single-artist channels clogging up the stations. No thanks. Had enough.
3. Howard now longer holds my interests. IMO, the show has become ponderous (rapper, porn skank, Artie lies, etc) To me, it feels like the fire in Howard has gone out the the happy and content Hampton's Howie is willing to go through the motions in order to suck the sinking SS SIRIUS dry.

I would look at something like slacker but my main interest on radio is still live talk (Stern, Bubba, NPR news, political talk). So, it's till satrad for me.

Hmm This gives me a bad feeling... a real fan not renewing. I hope things don't start snowballing. I will hold on to the bitter end if that's the way it's going. I wish Howard had a wife that was into the show ... OK... maybe that's not fair but I sense that she is drawing him into retirement, intentionally or unintentionally .. What the hell... he has given me many years of great listening... He talks about it these days like it is a great burden but it stll seems effortless fun for him..

Somehow a story about skipping a vacation in order to come in and do a live show turns into a bitch thread about lack of effort and bad guests.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it just a few weeks back that certain posters were asking him to give something back in order to help Sirius?
And isn't one of the main gripes people have is he takes too many vacations?

BTW, I'm not buying the "I canceled my week of vacation because I'm helping Sirius" bit.
That would mean they were going to take three weeks of vacation? Since when? I always thought they took the week of Christmas and the week after. I think he made this up in order to look good to the listeners.

I think he has always taken off mid-December. I want to say that his last day at WXRK was 12/16/2005 and he was off until a few days before 1/9/06. I used to HATE the vacation weeks when I was in high school and college. Those were the only times I could hear the whole show, and I had to settle for Best Of.
And I'd like to see this big Q4 push that Sirius is supposedly doing. I haven't seen much of anything as far as advertising. Everyone harps on Howard for not hawking radios on every street corner, but where are the commercials By Oprah, Martha Stewart, and Jamie Fox? They got lots of money for very little product, so the least they could do is throw in some plugs on their other shows or tape a commercial or two...

This is the one thing that everyone seems to forget when placing the blame of Sirius/XM's financial situation at Howard's feet. How many of these other so-called 'talents' have worked as much as Howard has for their payday? How many of them have been out there promoting in the past 3 years? I'm thinking almost none.
Seems that if Oprah spent as much time on selling subs as she does in getting her minions to read shitty books, perhaps things would be different?
Ha ha as much as i agree with you, i don't think anyone listens to that fat cow's radio show. So i don't think any promotion on that shitty show would help. The best thing that could happen is they cancel her contract and give her pennies on the dollar for the contract. What a waste of money! Typical XM management mistake that us Sirius investors are paying for now

Actually, Oprah's minions would follow her and do anything she asks of them. SiriusXM just need to get her to push the product. Even a little and I think SiriusXM would pick up a decent amount of subs from her army of stay at home Moms from across North America.
Same goes for Martha but to a smaller extent. SiriusXM should cancel their contracts and channels if they don’t do some promotion.

Same as Eminem. he has SHADE45 that could be peddled to millions of of his fans but there NOTHING. I'm not even sure if he has ever been on his own channel. He might not even know it exists.
Lots of teenagers and Eminem fans would buy Sirius if he told them to.

I was in Best Buy yesterday and played with the Slacker unit. Pretty slick little device, but I'm with Cpt. BMF, I have SatRad mostly for talk. Plus, must of the SatRad devices on the same display weren't working. :twitch:
I noticed the next song up on the Slacker was Time by Pink Floyd, so I skipped to it, cramked the volume on the display and walked away. A few seconds later and a million alarm clocks erupted out of that area. Good times...:egypt:
