I meant to post this here instead of the SIRIUS area. Anyway, I went to play my online player this morning and come to learn its a whole new website and whole new player. Why do they have to mess with a good thing? I liked the old XM online player SOOOO much better.

This new player seems hard to tune stations in with and the favorites are awkwardly situated. Oh well, I guess I better get used to it cause that is the way it will be  . Anybody else feel the same way?

I agree that the new player is not very intuitive. It took me a bit of time to figure out how to tune in a station also. In the past I used both the Sirius and XM players and actually preferred the Sirius player (which was nothing like this new siriusxm player). Having the album art is a nice touch though. Changing channels sucks though, even setting up favorites doesn't help much since you still have to hover over that tuner bar thingy.

That said, I have to give props to the fact that they are at least on the surface integrating the two websites and online radio players under one banner. I think it is a good step, but they need to make the channel navigation easier.

Well, it's completely bombed out on me and I can't log back in. I get some weird error message. Glad we're the beta testers on this one.

I can't believe that the same company that put out the Skydock with it's top-notch UI, released this disaster of an online player.

And don't forget us My Sirius Studio users (not that I really ever used the player) I was using it when Siruis was still supporting my Stiletto 100...

What a very, very crappy online player! Always fill in your login details without an option to save it is not user friendly. I hope they tweak it to a user friendly player.
B.t.w. I don't know why SiriusXM is not comming with there own desktop player?

The New Player Stinks

It's fancy, but not very user friendly. You can't tell if it's working, or buffering.

I use my blackberry to tether and listen on my netbook. It used to be when I used the phone, it would suspend the stream and when I hung up, it resumed.
Now it doesn't start again, and sometimes logs you out. A real pain when are using it in a car, for example.

We should have a choice. Anyone know where the old one is????

I am slowly getting used to this newer player, but still don't like it and prefer the older ones (XM and/or SIRIUS). However, one thing I have noticed; what has happened to access to Spice radio (ch248 XM or 845 SIRIUS)?

have they removed SPICE from the online player? Or could it be that its only because I am in a trial mode with the player for now?

At work, I constantly get "IOErrors" and have a very difficult time logging in or maintaining a stream for more than 30 minutes. Here at home, I don't get IOErrors, but I have noticed that it will randomly log me out. The music will just stop and I'll be back on the log on screen with no error. In both cases, I'm running the latest 3.x version of Firefox on either XP Home or Pro.

I've also noticed that the sound quality is pretty bad. I tried listening to Cinemagic tonight, but it was making a lot of clicking sounds. As a backup at home, I've been using SiriusXMStreamer, which plays with no problems. SiriusXMStreamer is great, but I shouldn't have to use a 3rd party application to listen to Sirius.

The horrible new design is another story. I could live with the design if it just worked. Unfortunately, Sirius has the nerve to charge an extra $2.99 for this crap. I'm hoping they'll get their act together someday, but I'm not holding my breath.

SXM app will downgrade stream rate if it detects a slow or busy network. This will degrade SQ. Other apps won't and will just stick with the stream and deal with loss of data (if any) via dropouts.

Unfortunately, I think it's their app and not so much my ISP connection. For example, last night I was hearing the crackling sound while listening to Cinemagic through Sirius' player. I switched over to SiriusXMStreamer and it played flawlessly.

my wife complains about this at her work. Good for about 30min then it's D-E-A-D.

Home on FIOS network it works and sounds pretty good but I don't think I let it run long enough to test.
