My new toy!

Those are great machines and ASUS makes good products. So tell us now DAWG, did you get her the pink one? LOL ;)

You'll need a third party utility to manage the partitions. Why the heck has MS never given us even basic partition management with any version of Windows?!

This won't work for you MM since it comes with Windows XP Pro, but for the record; Windows Vista it does have its own utilitiy to manage partitions. I have been using it on Vista since it first came out.

Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Disk Management

You delete the partition (D drive) and you can then go and merge that extra space into (C drive) I've done it many times.

Oh yeah, I forgot that Vista lets you do that. I tried using that utility to do stuff like creating/resizing/moving partitions and found it to be severely limited. I think it can all be done with their utility, but it gave me nothing but hassles. I ended up biting the bullet and buying the Paragon software to minimize my headaches...

It has XP Home I believe. I just want one HD. There is no need for 2 partitions.

You have done the drive rearranging on XP or Vista?

Vista Only! I've never understood why they do this on these small laptops. I guess it is for you to use one as a primary and one as a backup. But if the hard drive fals you are going to still lose your data. So really makes no sense.
