If she ate them, why should he have paid for them? If he had asked her there for dinner/drinks, then he could be on the hook if they did not agree to go dutch. This was not the case. However, he should have handled it better suggesting directly he would just pay for the drinks.
It could also be the start of an awesome first date.
But that story's all over the place. I've been to tons of oyster festivals, where they're coming right off the boats. And maybe they'll be $1.50 a shuck for a dozen, but usually $2. So that's $18 - $24 per dozen (or 13). Most restaurant oysters are $3 - $4 each. So $15 per dozen sounds... umm... fishy.
And at these festivals, Mrs. Scotch and I will each polish-off up to 2 dozen, in the course of an afternoon. But 4 dozen at one shot is just a stunt for Tik-Tok.
Oysters are good, but 4 dozen is a lot.

NBC is now reporting 22 dead and "50 to 60" wounded. A manhunt is underway for the so-called "suspect." Lewiston is 30 miles north of Portland.

Watching the news now. Horrifying. Police found the gunman's car at a dock in Lisbon, Maine. They believe he fled by boat.
And I'm sure we will learn that he bought his AR-15 legally. Here is a picture of Robert Card. He has been arrested several times for domestic violence and other offenses and he "has shown no signs of mental illness." Yeah.....until tonight.
