Roark Capital Group, founded in 2001 in Atlanta, owns Arby's, Hardee's, Jimmy John's, Carl's Jr., Green Burrito, Baskin-Robbins, Buffalo Wild Wings, Sonic Drive-In, Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q and the Cheesecake Factory. Today the company agreed to buy Subway. Subway has nearly 37,000 locations worldwide and around 20,000 in the United States, even after closing thousands of locations over the past eight years. Roark Capital Group is named for Howard Roark, the protagonist in Ayn Rand's 1943 novel
