Then there's those Canadian Geese all over the place. One of them hissed at me the other day and I didn't do anything.
Geese are assholes!
I worked at a place that had a pond near it and the geese would hang out and nest in the spring. They would charge at you hissing and walk out in front of your car., and there was goose crap everywhere.

One of the customers on a mail route that I had for eight years had a pet goose, a huge white one. Many times when I entered the yard to deliver the mail, the goose would charge at me, honking and hissing. I was fortunate in that I always managed to avoid him. He was mean!

Another Dislike:

When squirrels cross the street and are 3/4 across then they see my car coming and turn around and go back to start over again. Makes me feel bad.

Aww..... You're a sweetheart man.

Around us, the deer seem to be pretty adept at figuring out what the cars are doing.

We have deer here but I rarely see them. However now that you bring it up on my way home from Melbourne last week there was a deer just chilling and grazing on the side of 95. Like right on the side, a yard away from getting hit by a car in the right hand lane, maybe two yards.

I do also see them frequently from the monorail going from magic Kingdom to the parking lot I think they know they're safe there so there's a shit ton of them.

Up in PA our deer were not like yours. Maybe things have changed in 21 years but when I would go from Philly to Penn State I would have a real fear of deer jumping out in the middle of the road. There were multiple times when it happened and I simply got lucky that they weren't close enough for me to hit. Same thing went for driving local roads in the Penn State area.

Turkeys are kind of in between those two. They seem to be aware of when they are in the way of cars, but they have the whole family crossing, so they just go.

That's jive.

Geese are assholes!

Which kind of makes them endearing. They have little to no defenses yet aren't worried about that and are still perfectly happy to be complete assholes all the time.

They made me want to bring a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken in to the office and eat it in front of them to show em who's boss.

I liked helping at my wife's club basketball skills competition Saturday morning. It was for the kids in the southern wisconsin district who entered their city completion and advanced. Hardly anyone in her club could volunteer so I had to do more than just help her set up this time. I was the judge of the passing competition, 3 direct pass and 3 skip passes for the 6-7, 8-9 and 10-11 year olds. I was also practicing with the kids prior and during the event. Afterwords, we went to Sugar River Pizza to have a burger. An after the skills competition tradition except it was just me and her instead of her going there were her follow members.

I know someone who does this to me, he considers himself a friend to me, but he does this and it is annoying. But I do need his help with something so I tolerate it

I can't think of an scenario where you would do this and then think of yourself as a friend.

I need to add another LIke

For the last six weeks I've been going to the free dinner on Mondays at the city sunshine supper club. All you do is drive up, have a nice conversation with the volunteers and drive off with your meal. This Monday, I had a Sloppy Jo with macaroni salad, green beans and two cookies. I've always thought of going after I stopped working but finally got around to getting into the routine.

Here's what the keypad looks like on a phone screen, for texting

1779202800521.png

The 3 keys I circled in red are: Back key, Period, Return. I am constantly hitting the Return when I try to end a sentence with a period (maybe my first problem is bothering with punctuation). And when I try to repeatedly hit the Back key (like when I'm editing the top 40 lists on my phone), I inevitably hit the Return, which messes it all up.

You might be wondering what can possibly be done about this. Here's an idea; GET RID OF THE GIANT SPACE BAR! The space bar on a real keyboard - such as on a laptop or typewriter - has to be wide, so when you're typing properly (with your hands in the proper positions) it allows you to get to the space bar with your thumbs, even as you shift your hands as needed to reach certain letters. But nobody types that way on a cell phone screen. The space bar on a virtual keypad is just a colossal waste of critical real estate, causing those corner keys to bunch together. Why hasn't anyone figured this out?

I am hereby introducing the Scotch keyboard. Now I just need to sell it to Apple and Samsung.

The iPhone does not have this issue. It doesn't have the period. Usually if you want one you just hit space space or the 123 on the lower left to switch to a numeric/special character keypad. The backspace and enter are similarly located and I have enter by accident when trying to delete.

So that's why iPhone people don't end sentences with periods.

I know lots of people... who don't use any punctuation at all... they just use the 3 dots (ellipses) to signify the end of a phrase... whether it's supposed to be a comma... a question mark... or a period...... it bugs the shit out of me...

That's probably more of a Gen Z type thing or something. A double space period is super easy.

That may generally be true. But the example I most often run into is this older woman (probably 75-80) on our Town's community Facebook page. This is one of her actual posts:

Hope it's ok posting here.. I've given shout-out to lots of places...So I need to say this...So many people suggested that someone looking for Italian should go here...Then a friend asked me to come here with her ..I'm guilty..I haven't been here in years (20/30?? years)..8 of us last night..plus 2 to my right..and 5 in back of me..(don't know any of them) but had fun with them...ALL had a great meal/time...not 1 complaint Great Waitress& Waiter...Great Hostess (was told she was the owner)..I don't have permission to post pictures of my group..But this a.m..... I'm still in Awe as to how good it was...closes in 6 weeks..I had the Tony Bennett.[Had asked a total stranger what he was eating and ordered it]..I wanna try other stuff...soon...Funny I stole this picture from her FB page.... but except for the fireworks.... this was the weather last night....
Also you need to know it's ..... BYOB

Now, is it just me? Or does this make you want to scratch your eyes out too?

She just sounds like an idiot. I wouldn't attribute that to the layout of her keyboard. For all I know she is entering this on a PC.
