I agree with you there. Backspin and Buzzsaw are my only two areas of displeasure with this new Sirius/XM blend of channels. Other than that, I'm actually enjoying the new lineup.
 
I miss the song year on the decades channels. :( I just noticed they are missing. Probably a consession to the 16 character limit but they could have it on Sirius.
 
Having been an XM subscriber since Apr '02, I really like the Sirius channels we have access to now. Margaritaville, Coffee House, JamOn, The Bridge (Jan 09), and Grateful Dead will be listened to for starters.

You can actually thank XM listeners in a way for that channel. XM sent that channel to online only in 2005ish and was brought back to satellite roughly a year later after complaints on forums and letters sent to XM got read. That's back when XM actually listened to their listeners wants and opinions.

I would like to hear old Pearl Jam combined with the new stuff. Take Stone Temple Pilots as well...they recently re-united and i'm sure they'll come out with new stuff...unfortunately, Lithium in it's current format won't play that.

The problem with a decades format is that you're stuck in that decade. The problem with a specific-type of music channel is you're stuck to that specific genre. Lithium combines both of these problems into one channel. Lithium is good if you're searching for a rock/alternative FM station from 1994 and combined that with one from 1999.

Why can't both Lithium and Lucy exist as seperate, co-existing channels?

To give them credit, I have heard a few "new" songs on there recently. James "Laid" was one that I've only heard once or twice before, but have heard since the combination.

OTOH, I did hear Get Right on the "new" Octane this morning. :)

That name change doesn't really bother me all that much.
 
Deep Tracks Vrs The Vault

After my 1st 2 days with Deep Tracks, I feel it's a real improvement over The Vault. The playlist does indeed seem deeper and more varied. But Pat St. John from Sirius is a DJ, so I assume this is not the same Deep Tracks that XM subscribers have been listening to (?) Is this a hybrid?

Yes. I think the music is the same but with some Sirius DJs
 
I want the Groove to be on Sirius, and received some positive news on this possibility today. I feel pretty positive about most of the merged channels so far. We got a lot of Sirius jocks and kept a lot of XM's deeper playlists.:)

In a similar bonehead move. They completely get rid of Boombox. An awesome channel with Mash-Ups and Rock-Remixes. One of the best channels out there. And yes I said COMPLETELY GOT RID OF IT. Their channel lineup says something like if you liked Boombox, check out Alt Nation. Someone at Sirius HQ seriously needs a drug test. There isnt anything on Alt Nation that sounds remotely familiar to what was being played on Boombox.

But yet they bring in another dance channel that sounds similar to Area 38, but with more of a "pop" sound to it. MAKES SENSE!

I would like to dedicate the Exies song God We Look Good (Going Down In Flames) to everyone that had a hand in this outstanding business decision.

HOW MANY SIRIUS/XM SUBSCRIBERS DID YOU ACTUALLY SURVEY (THAT HAVE NO AFFILIATION WITH THE COMPANY OR ANY OF ITS PARTNERS) TO SEE WHAT THEY WANTED????

Sounds like you need to move where I live and just listen to FREE radio. I can guarentee you within 15 minutes you will hear Stone Temple Pilots, Peal Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, or Nirvana. Hell you might even hear them all back to back!!! Too bad this isnt 1994 anymore!!!!!!!

College stations tend to be on the left end of an analog radio dial... thus Left of Center.
