The people that own these goats have a lot of the same stuff in the yard; ramps, spools, cinder blocks. When I'd go visit with Mrs. Scotch, they liked chewing on my L.L. Bean jacket zipper pulls.

Great.
I can't be trusted on a motorcycle, and these freaking goats can climb a 300 foot tall vertical wall just to lick a rock.

I can think of two reasons I would scale a 300-ft wall to lick something. One is an active member of this forum from Arizona and the other is someone who used to be in this forum for a couple weeks but then she deleted her account.

Are you all noticing more people bringing their dogs shopping with them? Seems more like pets than support animals. Not complaining though, the animals are generally perfectly behaved.

I haven't noticed it here. The Publix in my area have signs on the doors that say general support Animals are not allowed. It's only ADA approved animals that can be in the store.

I do see more dogs in stores. Usually small ones, often in the shopping cart. There's a trend towards more businesses being pet friendly.

Did you have as a kid or did your kids ever have a non-traditional pet? And by that I mean not a cat or dog or goldfish.

As a kid I had a turtle for a while. Her name was Susie. She was like a land and water turtle. She was super cool. But those things fucking stink. I feel bad for my dad. He had to clean the tank and if he didn't stay vigilant, the whole living room would smell like disgusting turtle.

Sometimes in the summer we would put the turtle down in the backyard and wherever it was in the backyard it would know exactly where the pool was and make a beeline for it and jump in. Of course we would take it out right away because the chlorine and all but it was still cool to see.

Eventually we let it go free in a pond at some local park.

After going on a field trip, I got a newt from a pet store. It was a red eft. It looked like this.

I made a terrarium out of a fish tank. It had a mix of dry terrain and water, using a water dish. I had to catch flies to feed it everyday. There was dried food you could give it, but he didn't like it. I kept it alive for about a year.

My dad and I also got a tropical fish setup. We started with one tank, and then when they bred, we got more tanks. For a while we were selling the fish back to the store. Eventually they got ick or something and died.

I'm noticing pets more and more everywhere. I suspect it's this "emotional support pet" (which I think is nonsense) thing. Kinda like when I saw a rapper and he told the crowd "go to your doctor and tell him you have some emotional shit going on in your head, just make something up, and get a prescription for weed." I think a lot of people just want to brag "Yeah I can bring my dog into the library, the supermarket, the clothing store, restaurants..." You'll be fine without your dog for 20 minutes... </rant>

Occasionally we'll meet-up with friends who bring their dog with them on vacation. And then we'll look for a dog-friendly restaurant. But mostly, we leave the dogs at home when we go to a restaurant; even a dog-friendly one. I get enough of the dogs staring and begging at every meal at home. I don't need it while we're out.

Totally agree with the one exception being soldiers who have seen combat.

Athena is almost my emotional support cat. I needed to get a certificate for her to be allowed in the apartment. I never actually got it. When I moved in nobody asked for it and I've been here over 2 years and the one time my boss's boss mentioned it when she was doing the yearly apartment visit my boss was like yeah he gave it to me and that was that. By the way, you can get them for 50 bucks online. You don't even need a real doctor.
