Hurricane Season

Larry isn't going to hit anywhere but Bermuda,
And Newfoundland.

Now there 30% and unfavourable winds has a qualifier.

Unfavorable upper-level winds are expected to limit development through Monday, but environmental conditions could become marginally favorable for some gradual development by Tuesday or Wednesday.
Not going to develop until it crosses the Florida panhandle and may develop into the Atlantic.

House looks pretty banged up, but fixable. My father-in-law is the only other one with a key. He didn't see any water inside, but then he didn't check the attic yet.
If he didn't see water damage on your ceilings, hopefully you're in good shape in the attic.

Getting some air flowing through to dry anything out that might have gotten wet will be important.

I'm glad it's not looking too bad!

I'm definitely in Florida..

Tropical Storm Mindy has formed and is projected to cross the Florida panhandle and southern Georgia. I think the Hurricane gods realized they missed @Aaron with Ida and whipped something up real quick.

Publix is an excellent well-kept grocery store, btw. Highly impressed.

We made it home yesterday. More good news than bad news. No signs at all of water getting in the house or attic. The roof got a great temporary tarp job to secure it. Adjuster visits tomorrow.

Yard is an absolute mess though. Will take serious cleanup, of fence, shingles, tree branches. It's crazy how many things the wind blows into your yard that wasn't even yours... tree branches from neighbors and stuff. 140 mph winds will do that.

Came back to great cell service and running water, so I missed the bad stuff in the two weeks we stayed away. Debris piles everywhere.

Energy linemen everywhere too, working hard to get power restored.

Staying with father-in-law because he has a whole house generator.

Glad it's in pretty good shape!
Hopefully the power gets back on soon and the adjuster treats you well.
I'd see if you can start talking to roofers as soon as possible. The supply chain is really cheesed up due to COVID. I don't know what kind of delays there are for shingles.

Still no electricity yet.
They're estimating by this time next week.

No cable TV or home internet service (wired services) until probably late October!

Glad Verizon's LTE came back strong at least.

Even though we're fortunately staying with relatives with a whole house generator, it still feels I imagine like living in a third world country. Heavy police presence, nightly curfew, most stores and restaurants remained closed.
