IDK how that works. Like will FEMA respond down there? My guess is no but like I said, I have no idea.

PR is US territory is it not? Does it qualify for support from your govt?
Yeah, when Americans are affected by uncontrollable weather events, the government sends billions of dollars. But when Americans are affected by uncontrollable medical events, they're on their own. Better to be wiped-out by a hurricane than be hit with cancer.

Only weak people get sick in America. We cannot help them. They will only slow us down.

I got home from work a little after 7:00 tonight, and the garage door wouldn't open.
Neighbor came out and told me that power on our block went out around 6:00.
I lit some candles, found the flashlights, and probably reached for the TV remote at least 8 ties in the first 15 minutes.

Couldn't cook what I was going to cook for dinner, so I made a grilled bologna sandwich. (Not too bad.)

Power just came back on 20 minutes ago.

I could have napped through it, but we watched most of Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind on my laptop.
I had about 2 hours of battery left.

On the "Suck Scale" it rated almost a 1/2. You guys down in hurricane territory would hardly have noticed it.

Dude you need a commerative "I survived the great power outage of 2017" t-shirt to mark the occasion!

I tell ya, it almost rated a 1/2! It was brutal!

I missed the simple things the most, like not having a light in the refrigerator to see what soda I wanted to grab.

And DON'T get me started about resetting all of the clocks in the house. Ugh!

Could have just waited a month and killed 2 birds with the end of DST.

It looks like a cyclone of some sort is forming over Cuba and southern FL.

F! F! F! F!

I'm directly in the cone on this one. I was comfortable thinking we survived another hurricane season with no storm here, and then this one forms.

Now I need to worry about boarding up the windows, picking up loose items in the yard, and bringing the food in the refrigerator over to my parents since they have a generator, because there's likely to be power outages.

Ruining a portion of my favorite month.

Bad week. Woke up Monday to the Las Vegas news, then Tom Petty, and now this. Uggggh.
