One hour and ten minutes. The interview with Howard about his interview with Springsteen was almost as long as the Springsteen interview. Maybe next, he'll go on The View and talk about his MSNBC interview.

I swear I recently re-heard the bit where Howard gave JD shit for announcing his engagement on Twitter. They also replayed a bit where Howard didn't want to do Twitter too much because the "fuckhead fans" (or whatever he said) were blasting him too much for being on Twitter and not on the show.

In Howard's defense, he *did* talk about this HBO thing before he went on MSNBC.

And I'm surprised the interview went on for over five minutes. That's usually about as long as TV gives.

Caught part of that before work this morning. Interesting stuff even for a non-listener like me.

I like the video that accompanies this story.

Bud Light owner places two execs on leave after transgender influencer backlash

IMO, instead of firing the executives, they should tell Kid Rock and the other triggered snowflakes to go fuck themselves. But I guess that's not how marketing works.

Here's an interesting question:
Do Republicans hate LGBT+ people because they typically vote left
OR
Do LGBT+ people hate Republicans because Republicans don't stand for LGBT+ values?

And I have ZERO idea why gay Republicans are things. "I'm gonna vote for someone who doesn't support me."

Not answered in the article: PAID leave or UNPAID leave

UNPAID leave = we agree with the right wing nuts (or at least money > principle, not new in business)

PAID leave = we are appeasing the right wing nuts by saying we got rid of them and punished them, but actually we're just using this as a way to pacify them, then we're gonna return to exactly what we still think was the right thing to do.

I'd be willing to bet that if Sean Penn or even Bernie Sanders did a spot for Bud Light, Kid Rock wouldn't even care enough to get off his couch. These redneck conservatives think that liberals are forcing the "LGBT agenda" on "real America". Without this liberal influence (according to them), we'd all be living like an episode of Happy Days, when everything was pure and wholesome, and nobody challenged their gender or sexuality. They think that if everyone goes back into the closet, it'll all go away.

And they get really angry when social progress gets all tangled-up in their favorite things. Like drinking that piss-in-a-can they've been brainwashed into thinking is "American style" beer. And when players take a knee at football games.

I find it ironic that Kid Rock is so bent out of shape about this. Being a wealthy celebrity, you'd think that
A) he'd be exposed to many talented LGBT people on a regular basis;
B) he can't possibly actually still drink that cheap swill;
C) not too long ago, if some greasy white redneck came along and started rapping over rock songs, they'd fill him full of more holes than those cans of Bud.

1) Taking a knee. I go to a bunch of different sports. It may not be uncommon for me to see 3-4 different sports in as many days. Sometimes, I may be at two different sports in the same day.

IIRC, the NCAA doesn't have a rule on where players need to be during the anthem. Some coaches like the extra time in the locker room. The NCAA football team I follow used to do the anthem near the start of pregame. The first Saturday after 9/11 was postponed (oddly enough, both teams had the same bye week.) Anyhoo, they slightly changed their pregame show immediately after 9/11 so the anthem was the last song played. It still is the last song played.

Since the kneeling became a thing, I don't think anyone has knelt during it. A bunch of players will do a quick voluntary "kneel to pray" thing, but I've only seen, I think, 2-3 teams remain in the locker room. There may have been one team which came out and knelt, but I honestly can't remember.

For pro teams, it's just been one team and a very small handful of random players on other teams.

2) Something tells me that "old-school bad-ass MF middle fingers in the air with a little person beside him" Kid Rock loved it when two lesbians started making out with each other and/or women faked lesbianism in order to get the attention of guys.
