How often do these petitions actually work? Tha answer- NEVER! There'sa first time for everything, though, so I signed it, praying that they'll listen this time. But Sirius has never brought a dead channel back before.

Yeah and currently 36 signatures will mean nothing! If you had several thousand maybe they would take notice. But Bandit is correct they have never returned a channel. I remember the noise made when they took away one of the dance chanenls. Petitions, phone call and email campaigns meant NOTHING!
It is honorable to make an effort to do something, but one has to consider who they are dealing with and SIRIUS doesn't give two shits about user feedback. Never have and never will!

Not harder, but a bit more rock oriented. They spent a bit more time in the 70s and seemed to play a lot more bands like the replacements and the jam instead of the smiths and the cure. It was a good listen at times, but seemed to get a bit too deep for the 80s alternative label. Something between 1st wave and Fred would be great. Even other tracks from the same first wave artists would be an improvement.

Has sirius ever reported a reduction in subs for a quarter? Maybe the number of folks jumping ship could wake the music programmers up to listen to the subscribers they have left. Signing guys like Howard and Mad Dog takes some work and is expensive. Changing music formats/playlists is cheap in comparison.
I couldn't understand why they couldn't send a link to subscribers asking for favorite/last favorite stations along with suggestions for new ones before planning the changeover. They have emails/phone numbers for all subscribers. Seems too easy.
I realize Sirius customer service is horrible, and the service is now being run as a lean monopoly (i.e. you don't like it? Cancel - we are going broke anyway, so who cares? Try and get sat radio somewhere else, smart guy!).
But at least Vinny took the initiative to try and do something. I have a feeling the sub numbers will be way off this quarter, so maybe they will have to take notice this time. Just sitting back and doing nothing will get no results 100% of the time. If nothing else, sign the petition to express your disatisfaction with this mess of a service.
Sat radio could have been so good. It looks like we are heading towards a network of Clear Channel clones, complete with lame DJ banter and tons of commercials on many stations, with a nationwide signal that you have to pay for.
Oh yes both Sirius and XM have brought both back cancelled channels before.
Sirius cancelled Soundscapes and brought back Spa which is the same thing basically
XM removed Liquid Metal and later brought it back.

The point is they have never brought back channels at least Sirius due to subscriber request. Spa returned to the line up after consultants decided it was needed and that came over 2 years later. So it isn't like they got all this user feedback and then said. You know we really screwed up, so lets reverse course here and bring back this channel. That on Sirius has NEVER happened!
