Since I live in Kansas I've had Freddy's and it is great! They are actually building one next door to my place... that should be detrimental to my diet. 5-Guys is across the street along with Smash Burger, and Culver's is about 2 miles away. We don't have any of the rest. Out of the above, I pick Freddy's as the best.

I've never been to Freddy's. I live in near Olathe I'll have to check it out.

Our office group used to order 5 guys every friday. It has been a while but man still clean and still unblieveably awesome.

The only issue I have is their mobile web site for finding a store. I put in their actual address in and the site said not enough information.

Oh well.

Freddy's is actually opening up in a town on my way home from work. Across the street from a five guys no less.

And by the way people it is Five Guys not 5 Guys. Be careful what you search for on the internet when looking for their menu. Someone at my office made that mistake one time. :)

Shake Shack isn't bad either.

Jake's Wayback is ok.

Since nobody asked, here's my take on these chains:

The Counter: Overrated, and really not a great experience. They try so hard to have so many toppings that it just doesn't make for a good burger. Even if you go simple it is still pricey. Plus their burgers are tall and relatively thin, thus pretty hard to eat nicely. I've been once and haven't been back.

The Habit Burger Grill: Awesome! We go there at least twice a month. First found it in the Santa Barbara area on a road trip and now we have one local. Great burgers, fries, rings, and shakes.

Freddy's Frozen Custard And Steakburgers: Never heard of them

Farmer Boys: Pretty good. We used to go somewhat regularly when we had one local. Good basic burgers and fries when you don't want McDs or similar.

Smashburger: Never heard of them

In-N-Out Burger: A California staple. Enough said...

Culver's: Never heard of them

Five Guys Burgers And Fries: I found them to be ok, but not great. Hamburger was on par with The Habit, but the fries sucked. I'd go back I suppose.

About a month ago, I finally ate at Culver's and the butter burger tasted like shit! A Five Guys finally opened one up by me, which I haven't had one almost like a year and the burgers are still good, but the fries taste like crap!

Drove past an overflowing parking lot at Freddy's yesterday. Sunny and in the 60's so the outside tables were put to good use. It was their grand opening.

It been quite a while, since the burger thread has had a post. Lately now, I tried couple of new fast food burger joints that recently opened up in Phoenix, like and here my reviews on them:

The Habit Burger Grill - I been there twice and I'm 50/50 right now on them right now. Because first time the food tasted great, so I went to another location and the burger was overcooked. I'm going to try them one more time soon.

Steak N' Shake - Just tried them today and the steakburgers tasted like crap, Freddy's makes better steakburgers. I doubt I will try them again.

Shake Shack - Haven't gone yet, just opened less then two weeks ago. I will try them out within the month.

So far here is my fav, maybe and least fav burger joints:

Favorite
Burger King
Five Guys
Freddy's
In-N-Out Burger
Sonic
Wendy's

Maybe

Johnny Rockets
McDonald's - If I want to get a cheap hamburger
Smashburger
The Habit

Least Favorite
Carl's Jr
Culver's
Jack In The Box
Steak N' Shake
Whataburger

They opened a Freddy's not to far from my office. We tried it twice. The patties are like scabs.

They opened a Steak'n'Shake here, but then it closed. It was awful. We had them when I was a kid, and up into the 90s in Austin and they were much better.

Johnny Rockets is coming back to town. They left just 5 or 6 years ago. The burgers were ok, but they made the staff come out and dance every hour. That was embarrassing.

I love Jack in the Box and Whataburger. Sonic is wretched.

Five Guys is over priced. In n Out is better & less expensive.

Whataburger is good. Especially with jalapenos on it. Then I pay for it later.

Carl's Jr/Hardees has good burgers.

Sonic & Jack in the Box are good, too.

That said, I really need to stop eating beef. Even tho I take medication, gout still gives me discomfort

Beef isn't that good for you, or the environment, anywho

wow, im disagreeing with all you guys today. isnt 5 guys like $7.50? that doesnt seem too overpriced to me since it is a quality burger. by me there is a moes (by far better than chiplote) and an 5 guys and every time i can never decide which one i want more, but i usually end up at moes. anyway a burrito at moes is the same price as a 5 guys burger. at moes they give you chips for free and at 5 guys i always take a ton of peanuts. i mean way more than i should, like i fill up the bag.

Chipotle is very expensive, but only then & Qdoba are the only two in that vain of chain restaurants.

Five Guys is one of many.

Five Guys opened in west Madison and though it had a good taste, the price was shocking.

Yes. Five Guys can be pricey because of the al la carte. But when, I go there I usually get the little burger and regular coke for usually $7 bucks, but I'm getting good taste and skipping the nasty fries.

Our families instilled upon us the idea, that being a mature adult means not having to sit down at a place like McD's. But 5 Guys rises above the level of fast-food chain, and we sometimes stop there with family, when we're out shopping or traveling. BTW, the fries are awesome. And if we need a bunch of subs, we'll get them from a local Moe's.

There a few in the valley, but I never tried Moe's.

I don't do Chipotle, yes very expensive and plus I don't care for their food. The only fast food mexican place that I liked and no longer in the Phoenix area is Baja Fresh.

baja is quite good. the only one near me is far so i rarely go.

but u really need to try moes wolf. its really good and cheaper than chipolte. the way they make the rice and beans makes the whole thing better than chipolte. i always get the same thing, the homewrecker. its a big burrito and really fills me up.

I know a lot of people who like Chipotle, including some adults who see it as a healthier alternative. However, I've had nothing but bad experiences at them. Because of their popularity, it's always a zoo inside, with long lines. And since I don't frequent the place, I always feel rushed deciding what to get, plus the choices seem limited, and I have a general aversion to food that sits out all day in those trays. Plus, when you're all done, you have a big ball of food that's impossible to eat on the road. Of course, your mileage may vary.

I'll pay $10 for a Chipotle chicken burrito & a bag of chips, but I won't pay $7.50 for a Five Guys burger, fries, & drink
