When the kids were in middle/high-school, they had a half-mile EDIT: almost a mile walk. And on some days, we'd drop them off. We had to deal with the idiot parents who can't follow directions. Here's the drop-off area.

It's enter-only on the lower-right, and exit-only on the upper-left. In between the two is the drop-off area. The student entry door is circled, but the entire drop-off area is under a covered walkway. So the idea is to form a line along the entire covered drop-off area, and then simultaneously have the kids exit the cars. You can fit a dozen cars at a time. Those dozen cars can drive out, and another dozen cars can move into place.

But the idiot parents - with their precious progeny - don't follow the rules (which are for everyone's benefit). They wait until their special child is directly in front of the entry door, and so the kids get released one at a time. And that causes the line of cars to backup into the street. Some parents try to avoid the whole thing by going to the school bus entrance (above the top of the picture), and driving down towards the exit line. That sounds great, but it actually backs-up the exiting of cars who are following the rules. And it's also illegal. But all of this is way back in my memories now.

That is f'ing ridiculous! If the subdivision isn't a HOA. I would take out part of the grass and install pavers to widen the driveway.

I'm missing something. Is the person being fined the same one who owns the driveway and the lawn? Please say it ain't so...
It's probably a PUD, planned urban development. The grass is community land, and there are probably rules meant to prevent RVs and other vehicles from being parked on it. It's quite ridiculous.

One of my co-workers bought a portable basketball hoop on a 7-foot stand for his teenaged son. On the first day the hoop was in his driveway, he got fined by his HOA because it was "visible from the street." Picky, picky, picky!

Sugar sand, according to Google's AI assistant Gemini, "is actually tiny quartz crystals that used to be located high in the Appalachian mountains hundreds of miles away. Over the course of thousands and thousands of years, the Apalachicola River carried quartz from the Appalachians down to the Gulf Coast of Florida where it lay along the shoreline." And it can be deadly. Who knew?

When asked for his reaction to this horrific news, Homer Simpson could only exclaim, "Dough!"

Longtime employee dies after getting caught in dough-mixing machine at North Miami Beach grocery store

What a horrible way to die.

Now onto my insensitive jokes.

First off that's my local ABC affiliate. Not a joke but interesting to me.

Secondly, does the store have to get a brand new machine since it has now mixed non-Kosher material?

Why did the Florida man throw a ketchup packet at the Good Samaritan?

Because he really wanted to condiment his feelings! or you could say he was caught red handed?
