Damn! It's Hot Out!!!

What is really thowing me is that everything is in an orange hue. All the blues and greens are getting blocked by the smoke. Even inside everything seems orange.

The heatwave should break sometime tomorrow according to the news people.
 
The thick smoke is doing what it did for scotch yesterday. It has blocked some of the scorching heat from the sun and kept the temperatures a couple degrees cooler than yesterday (so far).
 
We've started to get a bit of the yellow haze tonight and I could smell a bit of smoke in the air.
Tomorrow it's supposed to be really noticeable.
 
Our sky is not weird but I've never seen such heat like this before. My car was at 107. I thought it was going to overheat. The city cancelled the Beer Garden concert tonight. I'm not going anywhere tomorrow (with the car)
 
Now we are getting a smoky atmosphere. Smelled like someone was having a mesquite wood BBQ. Not good air quality. But it did feel cooler. At least this morning. I'm going back out soon to see.
 
We generally do not get heat advisory and tropical storm warnings at the same time.

It got up to 99 on Monday Night and very humid. Our Food Truck event at the neighborhood park was cancelled. Very disappointing. Not so much about the food but it being a social event for our park. I missed last month's too when we had to go to Jacksonville. All that is left is the one for mid-August
Of course, the weather was wonderful for most of last week and will be cooling down starting today, it is just one of those things that happens with weather. Could have been worse there were terrible tornados in the Green Bay area
 
Today is the end of a fantastic stretch of weather. Pretty much, the last 2 weeks has been near 80 and sunny. This weekend was beach, beach, hike, and paddle. We hosted our Long Island/ Vermont cousins for the weekend. They are staying in nearby Kennebunkport. And soon, they'll be my Long Island/ Vermont/ Westchester cousins. And we'll have a new place to visit.
 
I just joined the book club at our library in June. For August, I am currently reading a book about the dangers of excessive heat to the planet.

"The Heat Will Kill You First" Jeff Goodell. I am halfway through; I read some of it during heat waves here. There are some parts of this country I would struggle badly if I was living there.
