In the team's first season in the NHL, 1917-18, Toronto won the Stanley Cup. There ya go! And why is the song Right Back Where We Started From instead of simply Back Where We Started? Sinitta Malone's remake reached #84 on the Hot 100 in October 1989. She's the daughter of Miquel Brown, best known for the 1983 dance hit So Many Men, So Little Time.

How does scoring a point put somebody back where they started from? It would seem to be an advancement, ahead of where you started from.
I don't know the reason just that they play it. Up until this year their goal song was "You Make My Dreams Come True". This year they have been using different music. The most common is "Panama" by Van Halen. None of these songs have anything to do with hockey or winning so I don't know the logic. Same is true for most teams song selection as well.

It always amazes me how some songs get associated with certain things... despite the fact it makes no sense. Like "Every Breath You Take" or "I Will Always Love You" being people's wedding song. One's about a stalker and the other's a breakup song.

To quote Vinnie Barbarino: "What? Where?" Welcome Back was the third of five television theme songs to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The first was T.S.O.P. (The Sound Of Philadelphia) (theme song of Soul Train) by MFSB and the Three Degrees in April 1974. The others are Rhythm Heritage's Theme From S.W.A.T. in February 1976, Jan Hammer's Miami Vice Theme in November 1985 and the Heights' How Do You Talk To An Angel (theme song of the FOX series The Heights) in November 1992. Waylon Jennings' Theme From The Dukes Of Hazzard went to number one on the country chart in the last week of October 1980.

Ray Anthony's Dragnet, the first TV theme song to make the top ten, peaked at #3 on the October 3 1953 Best Sellers chart behind Les Paul & Mary Ford's Vaya Con Dios and the Ames Brothers' You You You. Anthony would have another top-ten hit in March 1959 with the theme from Peter Gunn.

Sadly, no 3 minute videos of the 1970s top 40 by week. Just 1980s.

Good 3
34. The Who - Behind Blue Eyes
23. John Lennon - Imagine
9. Don McLean - American Pie (?16)*
Only three good but they're not just good, they're all time classics!

Okay 3
28. New Seekers - I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing (NEW!)

I don't know the difference between them. I'm assuming they're both about the same?

Bad 3
