Box Office Predictions

Ryan had that shock value at the beginning that made everyone talk. This looks good, but I don't think it will be a run away.

Looks like my gut instinct of Spider Man winning again is way off. Meanwhile, Dunkirk and Girls Trip both got stellar reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

Here my top 5 predictions for this weekend.

War for the Planet of the Apes
Dunkirk
Spider-Man
Valerian
Despicable Me 3

From the look of things after Friday it's going to be:

Dunkirk
Girls Trip
Valerian

So, so far I'm half right. Dunkirk will likely be #1 but Girls Trip will likely take #2 over Valerian. I had no idea Girls trip existed before checking box office mojo today.

Here my top 5 predictions for this weekend.

War for the Planet of the Apes
Dunkirk
Spider-Man
Valerian
Despicable Me 3

Dunkirk rocked #1 while Planet of the Apes fell to #4 below Spider-Man.

Weekend Box Office Results for July 21-23, 2017 - Box Office Mojo

With the amount of buzz it's getting, plus high marks on Flixster, I think Atomic Blonde stands a chance to be #1 next weekend. Not a lot of buzz about The Emoji Movie.

Upcoming Movies in Theaters and on DVD

I was somewhat close, didn't expect War for the Planet of the Apes to be #4.

Dunkirk
Girl Trip
Spider-Man
War for the Planet of the Apes
Valerian

Atomic Blonde might be #1, but Emoji Movie is a kid animation movie and the kids will want to drag there parents along, so could see it either finishing somewhere between #2-4 place.

What a shame they won't be #2

Hate to say, the movie might finish in the top 5, closer to 5th.

The Dark Tower was #1 last weekend, though the numbers sucked...

Weekend Box Office Results for August 4-6, 2017 - Box Office Mojo

My prediction: The Nut Job 2 will be #1:

Upcoming Movies in Theaters and on DVD

Even though Nut Job is opening up in more theaters, I think Annabelle: Creation could possibly be #1. This Annabelle looks better then the first one and plus it a horror flick, usually horror films dominate the box office lately now. Wait till It comes out.

One reason, I believe the summer box offices doesn't do well anymore, their so many damn movies trying to compete against each other. So these supposly to be be good box office movies air in the summer, which usually suck now and the really good summer movies move into the dead months now. Usually around the holiday season and beginning of the year are the new summer months.

Like for an example for the rest of 2017, some of these would have been great summer movies. But I believe this movies will probably be competing for #1.

It - Sept 8th
Mother! - Sept 15th
Kingsman 2 - Sept 22nd
Blade Runner 2049 - Oct 6th
Geostorm - Oct 2oth - I believe this movie will suck?
Jigsaw - Oct 27th
A Bad Moms Christmas - Nov 3rd
Thor: Ragnarok - Nov 3rd
Daddy's Home 2 - Nov 10th
Murder on the Orient Express - Nov 10th
Justice League - Nov 17th
Star Wars 8 - Dec 15th
Jumanji - Dec 20th
The Great Showman - Dec 25th

Early 2018
Black Panther
Pacific Rim 2
X-Men: New Mutants

But the one movie that real probably dominate all of summer 2018 is Avengers: Infinity War, maybe next to Deadpool 2, Han Solo and Jurassic Word 2.
