Look I don't care about using stereotypes and I think what you said was kinda funny. I was just busting balls cause I read that post as you thinking of me as blindly following one side to the point where the slightest deviation perplexes you. IDK, that was a bummer to hear. I would have thought you knew me better than that. Despite my verbose and often exaggerated opinions in favor of a certain political leaning I have very often also discussed areas where I deviate.

Also this is at least the second time you have felt compelled to do this. I'm talking about some milquetoast, non partisan thing I find interesting and you feel the need to chime in with some minor slight towards my political ideals. I'm not asking you to stop, go for it if that's what you think of when you read some of my shit. I just think it's kinda weird.

I'm probably not the only one here who finds it ironic that you have so much reverence for the documents that once defined our country.

When you support a guy who's destroying the fucking world, this is what you get when you express admiration for exactly what's being dismantled. What do you expect?

We have a no politics rule, but that doesn't equate with it all being meaningless to us. There's a limit to the level of irony I can endure before I have to call it out. I'm sure Hectic will just delete this whole thing. Maybe I should take another break from this forum.

I think it's awesome to be passionate about how you feel our nation should go forward and I am every bit as passionate about it as you expressed in that post.

But that's actually an interesting philosophical thing to ponder that you brought up there.

Please note, despite my strong urge to respond your charged words in that post, I instead would like propose a thought exercise which interestingly enough, Pam and I were discussing like 5 minutes ago when we were talking about the midterms.

Say we live in another dimension where more or less everything about the United States is the same and we are governed by the exact same type of Constitutional Federal Republic and Representative Democracy we are right now but everybody is different. We're not talking about any current day politicians in our world or anything like that. This is just something to think about that I think is interesting.

If we truly live in a free society with the right to Democratically elect our Representatives aren't we also freely allowed the right to vote to end that democracy?

I would never want to do that, obviously. I love our system and I hope it remains until I die and long after. But the idea that if we are truly free we are able to vote to end our freedom is a fascinating thought that I have pondered quite a bit.

Moving on from whatever that was.........

I like to read one fiction and one history book at all times. I won't get into the history one I'm reading for fear of possible "irony" but my Uncle recommended The Last Signal to me. It's a Dan Brown book and I only know him from The DaVinci Code books that I never read but I saw at least the first Tom Hanks movie.

I'm only like 5 pages in but it's about an extinction level event that we are being warned about through coded messages in historical sites. Seems like an interesting premise and I hope I dig it because I want to trust my uncle's suggestions going forward.

Also check out this embarrassing shit. When I turned 40 like almost on my birthday I became farsighted. And now I understand how my father when he was like 80 and couldn't hear anymore, took like 7 years before he would actually buy hearing aids even though we all told him over and over to get them........because I am now almost 43 and I could fix this by just going to Walgreens and buying like a $5 pair of reading glasses but I refuse to do so. Instead, what I do is read my Kindle with the text looking like this:
