#19 "Beautiful In My Eyes"
#26 "Jesse"

Not subjectively a OHW to me. I hear both songs from time to time, even aside from when I listen to his debut album, which I think it great. My wife was surprised to learn I like him, because her mother likes him too. He's a very "Delilah" romantic-piano-by-candlelight kinda guy that can feel shmaltzy. But I think he's a great storyteller.

His first album:
Jessie [great story]
Painted Desert Serenade [great story]
Beau's All Night Radio Love Line [great story]
Invisible Man [great story]
Mama's Arms [great story]
Beautiful In My Eyes [it's shmaltz but it's okay]
Picture Postcards From L.A. [great story]
When A Woman Cries [shmaltz, the only one I skip]
Georgia Rain [great story]

Geto Boys
#23 "Mind Playing Tricks On Me"
#40 "Six Feet Deep"

I know both songs, but I think it's pretty much just people really into rap that know either one these days.

If there's a Geto Boys song the mainstream might know, it's "Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangsta" which is featured in the film Office Space.

No idea who that was by. No desire to listen to it outside that movie. But fit the movie well. Never heard of the other 2 songs.

I consider Ethel Merman to be a one-hit wonder, even though her most famous song never charted. In 1950-51, she had four top-30 duets with Ray Bolger and one top-30 duet with Dick Haymes. Her only solo hit was Move It On Over, which reached #18 in February 1943. She was accompanied by an unnamed male quartet. Merman is best known for There's No Business Like Show Business from the Broadway musical Annie Get Your Gun. In July 1946, the song – written by Irving Berlin – appeared on the Annie Get Your Gun soundtrack album, a box set containing six 78-rpm records. In 1979, at age 71, Merman included a new version of the song on a disco album cleverly titled The Ethel Merman Disco Album. Listen at your own risk.

Ethel Merman appeared in the September 7, 1967 episode of That Girl titled "Pass The Potatoes, Ethel Merman." Ann Marie (played by Marlo Thomas) got a small walk-on part in Merman's Broadway revival of Gypsy. Ann Marie lamented to her boyfriend Donald (played by Ted Bessell} that her first meeting with Merman was awkward: "Oh, Donald, I could have said 'Hello, Ethel' or 'Hello, Miss Merman.' Why did I have to say 'Hello, Miss Ethel Merman'?"

That is a perfect song for the song/movie thread.
I rarely hear it outside of the movie, but I instantly think of Office Space.

My wife's cousin got married and that song played at her wedding. She's celebrating her 16th anniversary soon. Has it been that long since you've been to an event with dancing? I figure even us geeks get stuck at a wedding every decade or so.

I think the only weddings I recalled going to since 2005 (the release date of this song) was my daughters in 2013 and my mother-in-laws in 2015. I think my daughter played 70s, 80s & 90s pop standards and I don't think there was dancing at my mother-in-laws. It was more of a lower key affair as they had been effectively married for about 25 years but it just became officially legal so they did a small celebration. Everybody else I knew got married much earlier or remains single.

As to general dancing, my wife isn't really able to dance with her physical disabilities so it is not something we do for pleasure.

There is a picture of me next to the word 'geek' in the dictionary.

Just for reference, my daughter's wedding was around the same time (2015). Our father/daughter dance was New Shoes by Paolo Nutini, which is about dancing.
