Yep! The one who told the band "Hey we got a record contract" only for them to find out later only she got a record contract.

[Guitarist Josh] Farro then proceeds to take countless shots at the band, calling Paramore "a manufactured product of a major label," and accusing frontwoman Hayley Williams of not only being manipulated by her management, but also of treating the group as her solo project. He claims that Williams is the only member of the band signed to Atlantic Records, and that her bandmates were simply "riding on the coattails of 'Hayley's dream.' "

"Hayley's manager would tell the band to be in the lobby of the hotel at a certain time, but he and Hayley wouldn't show for hours. We found out that they had been meeting with record label executives all morning without us, which is totally weird given that this wasn't simply a solo artist, but we were a band," Farro writes.

"The band was in the dark the whole time. After many meetings between Hayley, her manager and the labels they decided to sign her to Atlantic Records. We didn't understand why Hayley was the only one signing the contract since we were told this was a 'band,' but we were too young to grasp all of this. ... Next thing we knew we were having a signing party for Hayley."

Farro also claims that, even from the early days of the band, Williams was a pawn of her management, who, along with her parents, "controlled her every move" and "didn't like the idea of Hayley being in a rock band, so they forced her to leave, wanting her to pursue a solo career."

He then writes how, after Williams attempted to launch a solo career, she came back to the band and asked the Farros to rejoin, as he puts it, "the band we started," on the advice of her management.

Having discovered a second hit by her probably not (and the one I didn't attribute to her before last night was her bigger hit).

Maxine Nightingale
"Right Back Where You Started From" - #2/1975
"Gotta Be The One" - #53/1976
"(Bring Out) The Girl In Me - #73/1978
"Lead Me On" - #5/1978

Maxine Nightingale's first three singles – two in 1969 and one in 1971 – were released in the UK but not in the US. Her first single, from June 1969, was Talk To Me, written by Albert Hammond and Mike Hazlewood, backed with a version of Blood Sweat & Tears' Spinning Wheel. In October 1977, she released a remake of the Delfonics' 1970 hit Didn't I. It failed to chart. It didn't even make the adult contemporary chart.

Paula Cole
#8 "Where Have All The Cowboys Gone"
#11 "I Don't Want To Wait"
#35 "Me" (Airplay)

Both of those songs are still remembered today, not a subjective OHW in my opinion.

I think those two are ok but I like "I Am So Ordinary" (uncharted in US, #42 in Canada) and "Eloise" (uncharted) more.

Bonnie Pointer
#11 "Heaven Must Have Sent You"
#40 "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)"

Both of those are cover songs. I don't know either of them (well, her versions anway).

Bonnie had three top 40s with The Pointer Sisters before leaving in 1977. But her ex-band then had their biggest hits after she left, going to #2 with "Fire" right after Bonnie bailed and reaching the top 10 six more times after that between 1981 and 1984.

I have only heard her on countdown shows. I assumed she was also with the sisters. I guess she was holding them back.

#27 "Somebody's Out There"
#38 "Hold On"

Four top 40s in Canada, but only two here in the States. I don't know either song except for hearing them on the VJ. When one of their songs is in the "Won't Make The Top 40" list, IRBS' usual response is "Canadian so not really a surprise"

I don't know either of those songs. I just went through their "best of" list, and the only hit I recognize is Magic Power.

I would not call them a OHW. Several hits that I recognize.
