Comments:
  • "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life" is a dance classic.
  • Several of the songs were bubbling under a few months ago: Here are the songs below the 100 for 1/22
  • I can't believe "Red Skies" and "Atomic Dog" didn't crack the 100.
  • "I Won't Be Home Tonight" fell from #79 to #100 then shot back up to #79 the next week. Crazy stuff!
  • There's another Phil Garland with a wiki page, but the Phil Garland doesn't hae one. I found the following for our Phil: phil garland records and CDs

#52 Clash "Should I Stay Or Should I Go"
I expected it to land around 30.
"Should I Stay Or Should I Go" peaked at #45
#76 Missing Persons "Walking in LA"
I would have thought this would have made it to 30 or 25. Bummer.
"Walking in LA" peaked at #70
#90 Wall Of Voodoo "Mexican Radio"
I thought this would have made it to 60 or 50.
"Mexican Radio" peaked at #58

I wonder what prevented these tracks from hitting the 40.

#101 Smokey Robinson "I've Made Love To You A Thousand Times" (peaked at this position)

Quite a title for 1983. "I've banged dat cooch a shit ton (I've put some mileage on ya)"
Here are a few of the lyrics: "I've made love to you a thousand times. Even if it's only in my mind."

This actually opens up a new can of worms.
#102 Indeep "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life" 101, #2 Dance, #10 R&B, #13 UK)
Quite the dramatic title
It was a fun song. The dude should have been a doctor. Lol.

Last night a DJ saved my life
Last night a DJ saved my life from a broken heart
Last night a DJ saved my life
Last night a DJ saved my life with a song

#106 The Fixx "Red Skies" (peaked at # 101)
This shoulda been a top 40 for sure.
I completely agree.
