I don't recognize particular fonts. But I recognize when someone spells his last name Segar. Was it in courier font?

AT40-19/03/83
39. "Burning Heart" - Vandenberg
Maybe one of the first big power ballads - a little surprising that it made the Top 40, but it was all over MTV at the time.
35. "On The Loose" - Saga
Now this one really does surprise me that it made it this high. I always thought it was more of a rock radio hit.
30. "Dreamin' Is Easy" - Steel Breeze
Not sure that I knew they had a 2nd hit. Listening to it now, & I had to get to the chorus to recognize it. Not sure I knew this song was them. Guys, I know a lotta stuff. And there's a lotta stuff I don't know.
27. "Poison Arrow" - ABC
Gawddamn, I love ABC.
26. "You And I" - Eddie Rabbit and Crystal Gayle
ALL THAT GLORIOUS HAIR. ON BOTH OF 'EM.
20. "Der Kommissar" - After The Fire
I always thought it was weird there were multiple versions of this song.
19. "I've Got A Rock 'N' Roll Heart" - Eric Clapton
And here we have the 1st song in the countdown I truly hate. Get fucked, Clapton. You piece of shit.
17. "Fall In Love With Me" - Earth, Wind & Fire
I love me some EWF, but I don't remember this song. Like it, though!
16. "Jeopardy" - Gerg Kihn Band
I know it's just a typo, but it made me laugh. Gerg.
15. "I Know There's Something Going On" - Frida
Phil Collins on drums ( and producing? ) if I remember right.
14. "Come On Eileen" - Dexy's Midnight Runners
I always like that this comes ( so to speak ) up in the scene from "Clerks" where Randall's listing all the porno tapes he's ordering for the video store. Even so, it's only my 2nd favorite title from that list. #1 is "All Holes Filled With Cock".
13. "Twilight Zone" - Golden Earring
I'm SURE I've told the "hot girl in a bar" story I have about this song here, right? If I haven't lemme know & I'll get to it.
12. "All Right" - Christopher Cross
"NEWMANIUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
11. "Stray Cat Strut" - Stray Cats
Heard this in the car when I flipped away from something in the 70's countdown I didn't like ( don't remember what, though )
09. "One On One" - Daryl Hall & John Oates
This was on the "H2O" record, right? That was my first concert, with opening band OXO ( not the kitchen gadget people ). Tulsa, OK. I was...17?
04. "Hungry Like The Wolf" - Duran Duran
Never got to see them live. Covid willing, next time/if they come to KC, I will.
Great countdown for me - only a few duds.
That's why once I post my guesses, I don't come back to this thread. Don't wanna be swayed or tipped off in regards to the right answer.Second guess.
Subjectively a OHW?Not sure that I knew they had a 2nd hit.
I don't like white blues either, and not a fan of Clapton in general, and he's done and said some bad stuff, but I don't hate him with this much passion. What's your beef with ol' slo' hand? And here we have the 1st song in the countdown I truly hate. Get fucked, Clapton. You piece of shit.
For years, there's been a guy on the local music scene (internet radio host, etc) named Gerg Anidem. I always thought it was odd. Then one day one of his kids posted a happy birthday on his FB page. Last name: Medina. I finally figured out Gerg Anidem is just Greg Medina backwards. Only took me like 8 years? I'm a little slow evidently...I know it's just a typo, but it made me laugh. Gerg.
If you've shared it, I've forgotten it."hot girl in a bar" story
Except when you do:I don't recognize particular fonts. But I recognize when someone spells his last name Segar.
About 20 for me.
Btw, do you do these on a Commodore 64?
Yes, I certainly do notice. I just don't have the names of the fonts memorized. Nor did I realize that you always use that font.Except when you do:
I think you've answered your own question.not a fan of Clapton in general, and he's done and said some bad stuff. What's your beef with ol' slo' hand?
I expected it to land around 30.#52 Clash "Should I Stay Or Should I Go"
I'm surprised this didn't top 40.#57 Psychedelic Furs "Love My Way"
I really like this song. I can see where it didn't make it to 40, but it's too bad in my book.#66 Berlin "Sex (I'm A)"
I would have thought this would have made it to 30 or 25. Bummer.#76 Missing Persons "Walking in LA"
I thought this would have made it to 60 or 50.#90 Wall Of Voodoo "Mexican Radio"
You would have thought right! Enjoy some barbecued iguana to celebrate your rightness.I thought this would have made it to 60 or 50.
Yep. Not a fan of his music to begin with. But then some of the stuff he's done in the past is pretty bad. And then these last couple years he's revealed himself to be a grade-A jagoff.I think you've answered your own question.
It is just co-incidence. It goes to show perhaps it is Bob who is not spelling his name correctly.Yes, I certainly do notice. I just don't have the names of the fonts memorized. Nor did I realize that you always use that font.
I guess the answer to my question is that both of you made the same odd spelling error. I would expect to perhaps see Seeger. But also, I assumed these lists were copied & pasted, not retyped (incorrectly).
This week's surprises. Thankful about #46 but why is it still played?Won't make the top 40
#46 Weather Girls "It's Raining Men"
#52 Clash "Should I Stay Or Should I Go"
#88 Don Henley "I Can't Stand Still"
#90 Wall Of Voodoo "Mexican Radio"
You inspired me to make a page. It's under review which may take a while. I placed a preview below:#96 Gentle Persuasion "Please Mr Postman"
Two years ago I pointed out they have no Wikipedia page. Still don't have one.

She didn't have the right material to breakthrough yet.Won't make the top 40
#58 Janet Jackson "Come Give Your Love to Me"
I had no idea this charted.#67 Yaz "Only You"
