Good 8

Bad 24
38. OOH OOH SONG - PAT BENATAR
Just when you think this is finally gonna end, she goes '1, 2, 3, 4' and the damn thing keeps going.
37. KEEPIN' THE FAITH - BILLY JOEL
'I thought I was the Duke of Earl when I made it with the redhead girl in my Chevrolet.' Always liked that line, not even sure why.
36. NAUGHTY NAUGHTY - JOHN PARR
Always forget this song exists. Very dated, but I dig it.
35. RELAX - FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD
I (like many others) thought the line was "When you wanna sock it to it". In fact, people associated with the band said that's the lyric. And official releases from the band have it printed as the lyric. However, years later Holly
told an interviewer the line is actually, "When you wanna suck it, chew it" which doesn't make sense. Sometimes learning the actual lyric is a downer.
Trevor Horn: The line "When you want to come," is definitely in the song, but the ironic thing is that if you listen to the record, Holly very clearly sings "sock it to it" but ZTT’s publicist, Paul Morley, had printed on the cover "When you want to suck it, do it". That’s not on the record, but was why the BBC decided to ban it.
Holly Johnson: What I sang was "When you wanna suck it, chew it". And I should know. I wrote it.
33. MISTAKE NUMBER THREE - CULTURE CLUB
Had never heard this. I liked it better than way.
24. ALL I NEED - JACK WAGNER
When this song came on, my son ran screaming to the couch, grabbed two pillows and pressed them to his ears. Then he said, "This is the only way to make the pain go away!"
23. JUNGLE LOVE - THE TIME
Prince's lyrics are pretty odd... 'take you to my cage, lock you up and hide the key' ... but the song itself is a banger!
18. OPERATOR - MIDNIGHT STARR
Starts with an annoying phone-off-hook sound, and stays just as annoying for what seems like ten minutes.
15. CALL TO THE HEART - GIUFFRIA
When this came on, I thought "Dear lord, Steve Perry can't be on this countdown THREE times, can he??"
10. I WOULD DIE 4U - PRINCE & THE REVOLUTION
Timberlake's Super Bowl performance was pretty mediocre, but this was the highlight.
3. CARELESS WHISPER - WHAM! (FEATURING GEORGE MICHAEL)
Every time, I can only think of this guy...
Won't make the top 40
#62 Kinks "Do It Again"
#70 George Benson "20/20"
#82 Deep Purple "Knocking At Your Back Door"
#91 Barbra Streisand/Kim Carnes "Make No Mistake, He's Mine"
(there are more but Billboard's database is still broken and I don't have the time to double check the peaks of all the broken ones).
