1. Rain - never heard of it.Posted elsewhere but what the heck here it is again
Madonna:
Hey. He's just expressing himself.I honestly never paid attention to the lyrics. I thought it was about expressing yourself. And it's got an awesome groove. Plus the melody has some nice jazzy bends to the notes.
Vogue and Material Girl have good grooves too.
I like that one.Nobody likes "Good Thing" by Fine Young Cannibals?
It's one of the ok ones for me.Nobody likes "Good Thing" by Fine Young Cannibals? I like that one way more than the overplayed other hit.
Assuming you didn't write this while you were at the Tastee-Freeze, suckin' on a chili dog.22, all okay except for that ‘little ditty’ I could choose never to hear again in my lifetime and be happy.

40. LET ME GO - RAY PARKER JR.
Starting the "Never Heard It Before" list right from the jump this week, which is weird because I have his "greatest hits" CD & I assume this on there. It's not familiar to me at ALL, though.
39. I REALLY DON'T NEED NO LIGHT - JEFFREY OSBORNE
2 for 2 on "NHIB" songs!!!! The hell was I doin' back in 1982?
38. SOMEDAY, SOMEWAY - MARSHALL CRENSHAW
Absolutely criminal that this was his only Top 40 hit as an artist ( he did have a hit co-write with Gin Blossoms a decade later ). His catalog is jam packed with great songs, & when I finally got to see him live after being a fan for 30-ish years it was one of the highlights of my show-going history.
34. SOMEBODY'S BABY - JACKSON BROWNE
You stay away from that Ron Johnson, Stacy Hamilton!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( 50 BONUS MONOPOINTS FOR ANYONE WHO GETS THIS REFERENCE WITHOUT GOOGLING )
31. HOT IN THE CITY - BILLY IDOL
NEW YORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
28. IF THE LOVE FITS WEAR IT - LESLIE PEARL
Not only is this "NHIB" song #3, I've never even heard of the friggin' thing before.
25. KIDS IN AMERICA - KIM WILDE
Everyone knows this song, but the album it's from ( her self-titled debut record ) is an absolute GEM of a pop-rock record. And one of my all-time top 100 favorites.
22. LET IT WHIP - DAZZ BAND
Still a gawddamned power jam.
8. VACATION - THE GO-GO'S
Still on my "never saw 'em live" list - hope to change that someday.
And "Hurts So Good" would be stuck peaking at #2 in the late summer area of that same logjam. The logjam in the top 5 through the fall was quite fascinating. Abracadabra will be #1 for 2 non-consecutive weeks falling as far as #3 in between. Chicago will have a 2 week run between those weeks.
TAKE IT10. TAKE IT EASY - PAUL MCCARTNEY
I looked at a countdown 2 weeks ago that SXM did and the top 5 are the same songs in the same order. Most of the top 10 is similar too.And "Hurts So Good" would be stuck peaking at #2 in the late summer area of that same logjam.
Listening to good music, not this crapThe hell was I doin' back in 1982?
