Jimmy Dickens (1920-2015), who was only 4'11", had 19 country hits, 1949-72. Eight made the top ten: Take an Old Cold Tater & Wait, Country Boy, My Heart's Bouquet, A-Sleeping At The Foot Of The Bed, Hillbilly Fever, Out Behind The Barn, The Violet & A Rose.....and May The Bird Of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose, which was number one for two weeks in November 1965 and reached #15 on the December 4 1965 Hot 100. It was his only song to make the Hot 100. It peaked at #28 on the Cash Box Top 100. In Los Angeles, the song was on the KFWB Fabulous Forty for only one week, at #38. KHJ and KRLA did not play it.

Jimmy Dickens appeared in the videos of three Brad Paisley songs: I'm Gonna Miss Her, Alcohol and Celebrity ("Chicks dig rhinestones"). In 2006, Jimmy, accompanied by Vince Gill, sang May The Bird Of Paradise Fly Up Your Nose at the Grand Ole Opry.
