Anyone else have an account on Letterboxd? (Social cataloging service for films, reviews, etc)
Just added mine yesterday, have a ways to go before I've logged everything I've ever seen. Also haven't had a chance to watch too much in the way of movies lately, for reasons I won't bore anyone with.

I just unfollowed you. ;) Hey welcome to the club.

Don't burn yourself out. That what I did a week ago. Now I do a year or two a day now, since it takes who knows how long.

Not so much burnout. but I just look at other people's list and stuff I've seen springs to mind 'Oh yeah, I remember seeing that one!'

I just worked on 2 1/2 years tonight. Even though 2025 is halfway done. I finally worked on that and put quite a few films on my watchlist that I'm waiting to stream or on my watchlist on various stream networks. Just have 2022, 2023 and 2024 left. :woohoo: and 2025 again to be worked on as the year goes on.

So I went with my son to see "Naked Gun" today. My son a second time. Here is the review I posted on Facebook:

First off, my son loved it.

I liked it. I would have liked it more had I not compared it to Naked Gun (original). There were lots of gags and some of them were very funny. Others just amusing. I found the parallel to the original plot structure to be a turn off (the plot was different).

I enjoyed it but if you see it, forget the original completely. Then in would be a good (not great) movie.

I should add that I did really enjoy the throwbacks they did to “Police Squad!”.

I've been wondering about remakes that might be better than the original.

The Departed was a remake of an old Hong Kong movie 'Internal Affairs (there's some debate online as to which is better but you can't argue with that cast!)

Kurt Russel's 'The Thing' was a remake, and some argue it was better.

Pacino's 'Scarface' was a remake and is a classic!

Cape Fear with DeNiro? (haven't seen either version)

True Grit with Jeff Bridges? (Directed by the Coen Brothers)

There's also word of remaking 'La Bamba' in the future, not sure how I'd feel about that.

I’d agree with most of those.
