The BFG wasn't terrible. I'd be more generous with a 2.5/5

Trust me BFG sucked!

Milk is a really good movie. Easily a 4 or 4.5/5. They don;t get into it in the movie but the guy who killed him (along with the mayor) is the same guy who tried to go with the Twinkie defense in court. Bonkers.

I read about Dan White (Josh Brolin) killed Harvey Milk (Sean Penn) and they didn't show it, but he also killed Mayor George Moscone (Victor Garber). Its nuts how the justice system sucked back then, Dan White only spend a few years in prison and got out early. But the douchebag committed suicide.

Today I had some free time and I finally watch The Big Lebowski and that film is worst then Pulp Fiction. Even though the movie had a storyline, unlike Pulp Fiction which was all over the place. The film has a great cast and was good in the beginning. I'm glad I finally watched it, but I doubt I will ever see it again. I give 2/5.
I can't trust any of your reviews. Lebowski is awesome.
It's wonderfully awesome.

In other news, I watched Black Panther last night.
It was meh.

Effects were decent. Plot wasn't very deep. It was predictable.
Finally having a main hero for the black community is a good step, but it felt like they were pandering.

It didn't cut it for me.

That's exactly why I don't like country music.
It isn't real anymore. There's no sincerity.

Black Panther felt a bit like that to me, but it wasn't annoying and didn't make me angry like country music does.

That is my opinion, it will always stand and I will defend it. Maybe if I saw Big Lebowski back in the late 90's/early 2000's it probably would have been a better film in my mind. But seeing it today, it was bad.

Many years ago I thought Idiocracy was one of the best films made, now I watch it today and it is alright. Clearly, my taste in films has changed in the past few years. I use to stay away from Oscar films and musicals and now I love them. Plus my gayness inside of me has come out even more since I finally came out years ago. Now, musicals is one of my favorite film categories.

I agree with you on Black Panther, when I saw in the theaters. It was alright, graphics were great and the storyline was ok. I love the villain Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan) and he was better then Chadwick Boseman. But wait until you see Infinity War aka Black Panther 1.5 and Chadwick Boseman stepped up and was fantastic.

Oh, today country music is fantastic! People simply don't give it any respect. It hella lot better then Hip Hop/Rap garbage music, all I hear is racist stuff in the lyrics.

I rest my cases.

You probably didn’t grow up in country music country like I did mainly in Tennessee and Texas. But I enjoy some classic, old and new today country music for the past 20 years. Plus I have seen some great concerts but unfortunately today I hardly go any more, because today ticket prices are simply outrageous.

I grew up in Toledo. Country music was everywhere when I was a kid.
Two minutes out of town there are corn fields. They keep going until about two minutes before you get to any other city.

We can agree on ticket prices though. They are outrageous.

"The Big Lebowski" is a classic that will be studied for centuries. It is our cultural equivalent of "Hamlet".

Black Panther can be a hero for white people, too. They desegregated comics in the 1960s.

Maybe in a few years, I'll give The Big Lebowski another chance. Unfortunately, I came in late to watch some of these cult classics which were around when I was younger. But I never got to watch them, because I probably never heard some of them or had access to them when they were on VHS/DVDs or on Blockbuster store shelves.

Since just about everything is digital direct. I have access to a whole new world and I am finally getting around to watch Big Lebowski, Pulp Fiction, Blade Runner, Dune, etc. But I am glad I have some of these cult classics in my collection now.

I think that's one of the best sentences ever posted on DRC.

But regarding changing opinions, I rewatched A Clockwork Orange a few months ago. I had always counted that among the great movies I've seen, but now it seems juvenile, amateurish, and pandering to violence for no good reason.

When I listen to music, I mostly listen to the sound of the instruments. I don't like the sound of country music. That twangy steel guitar, loping pace, and cheesy rhythmic sound sucks.

Yay, Kitchen Nightmares is back!

It's called something different now and the gimmick this time around is Gordon does it in 24 hours instead of a week but besides that, it's the same show.

I love my Gordon Ramsay.

I never liked "A Clockwork Orange". I read the book before I saw the movie and really didn't like the changes Kubrick made.

Tonight Memegirl and I saw "American Animals". It's a true crime docudrama. It re-enacts a rare book heist carried out by some college kids, and weaves in interviews with the real people. Very well made.

Last night I watched the 1978 version of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" at the last Graveyard Shift at Mason Park. I saw it in the theater when it was first released.

The Mason Park theater is shutting down. Next Thursday is the last show. A brand new Alamo Drafthouse opens about 5 miles away on June 2nd. Top Brass Victory Club members will see a secret screening on the last day. I'm going to stay and watch the very last showing ("First Reformed") afterward.

Robert gave everyone at Graveyard Shift an empty 35mm film canister last night. Mine held "Black Room". I wondered if an evil spirit might be trapped inside, so I opened it. I didn't see anything.

So you are going to have 2 Drafthouses now? With all the time you already spend at the first one a second may not be healthy. Your whole life is going to be Drafthousing.

This:

Last night I watched the 1978 version of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" at the last Graveyard Shift at Mason Park. I saw it in the theater when it was first released.

And this:

Robert gave everyone at Graveyard Shift an empty 35mm film canister last night. Mine held "Black Room".

Are both very cool.
