Last night I saw John Cameron Mitchell's new film, "How to Talk to Girls at Parties". It's a love story set in late 70s UK with aliens, based on a Neil Gaiman short story. I enjoyed it immensely. Surprisingly sweet for a film with so much anal probing and intermouth vomiting.

Hey! You slipped-in a rick-roll! Bastard.

Screw you Wolf. I watched that trailer and it was you pulling yet another Rick Roll on us. You're the worst.

Like I suppose to know a Rick Roll was in the trailer. When I watched it last night, I heard that and laughed because I knew you guys would be complaining about it.

But I have no interest in seeing Bumblebee because it another Transformers movie. But I appreciate that song in it.

Cool. Gay robots should be represented in the movies too.

Should this be in the Gay News thread?

How is Bumblebee gay? I don't see any gayness in it unless you are talking about the Rick Astley song. Which I don't consider gay, besides a joke from Family Guy.

Now that season 2 is nearly finished, I'm rewatching Westworld season 1. It's every but as good as I remembered. I'm notw looking forward to getting to the new stuff.

It's also neat how between Jurassic Park and Westworld, Crichton still has 2 franchises going strong even after being dead for 10 years.

I watched couple of films yesterday My Blue Heaven and In & Out.

My Blue Heaven
Vinnie Antonelli (Steve Martin) trades the mob for the witness protection program and moves to a small suburb in California. But for Vinnie, old ways die hard. He becomes a challenge for Barney Coopersmith (Rick Moranis), the FBI agent in charge of making sure Vinnie keeps a low profile before he can testify against his former mob associates. Barney, though, might actually be able to learn some things from Vinnie. That is, if Barney can keep him alive long enough.

In & Out
Upon winning an Academy Award, actor Cameron Drake (Matt Dillon) honors his high school teacher, Howard Brackett (Kevin Kline), who he announces, before millions of viewers, is gay. This comes as news to Brackett's parents (Wilford Brimley, Debbie Reynolds), his principal (Bob Newhart) and especially his fiancée (Joan Cusack). As a media blitz descends upon on his small Indiana town, Brackett attempts to convince everyone that he's your average straight American male.

The video quality isn't great but Kevin Kline and Tom Selleck kiss for about a dozen seconds. The scene is kinda:lostit:

Friday night I saw "Society", a 1989 body horror film about rich people being horrible. The ending is fun, but everything else is painfully amateurish.

Saturday I saw "Deadpool 2" again. Mrs. Bag wanted to see it. It was fun.

Last night I saw "Herditary", a new horror film that is supposed to be really scary. It's 93% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes right now. Alamo Drafthouse hooked people up to heart rate monitors and claims they went into the 160+ range.

I wore my own HRM to last night's screening. Average 75, peaked at 85 at the end, but I think that's because I needed to pee. It wasn't scary or good. I'm reading reviews this morning trying to figure out why so many critics like this film.
