2017 Movies & Tv Show

The Star Trek fan base is out there and hopefully the new show does well.

I'll check out the show when it airs on CBS for couple of episodes, but when it moves to there on demand channel. I won't be signing up.
 
I can't picture this being the series that sends people flocking to subscribe. The last trek wasn't great, there's no reason to think yet another reboot will be better.

I agree, but you just committed a crime with those words. :p Yea the last Star Trek Beyond movie, didn't do great in the theaters. But I personally think it was better then the other 2 movies.

I like the movies.

With Enterprise, they finally give a woman the keys to the spaceship, and she gets them lost???? Come on.

Well come on. Some things are too unimaginable for even science fiction writers to think up.

Sexist jokes aside, wasn't Scott Bakula the captain of the Enterprise?

In your original post you said, "The last trek wasn't great". Well that would be Bakula's Enterprise. Janeway was Voyager. Enterprise was the most recent reboot of the series.

Voyager: 95-01
Enterprise 01-05

Wow, I guess I'm more of a Trek nerd than I thought. I know these useless facts despite never really watching either series.
 
I think Star Trek nerds like to be called Trekkies? Yea I don't know any of that stuff, I just watch the movies edition.

Real Star Trek nerds like to be called "trekkers" and will throw down on a group of trekkies in a dark alley if they all have their inhalers.

I had to look up the difference and this majorly explains it.

I disagree with that distinction. Back in the 1970s the distinction was seriousness. Trekkies were frivolous, silly people who didn't memorize the blueprints or how warp cores worked. Trekkers took it all very seriously. Except for "Spock's Brain", cause damn.
