I saw 2 shitty movies yesterday. I already ranted about The Circle but at least I kinda knew it was going to suck going in. I also saw Wonder Woman. I have no freaking clue what all these critics are talking about. It's bad. Hands down the best part of the movie is just the opportunity to look at Gal for 2 hours. Besides that there is only one scene that I liked where she charges into a battlefield and there is cool action. All the other action, especially the final showdown, are humorously bad in how very cartoony they look. For such a big budget film the CGI is rough. It is very, very easy to point out when Gal and her surroundings are replaced with CGI cartoons. I rant about how the Marvel movies are stale in general and this was a bad version of that same Marvel movie template. I also compare everything to The Dark Knight. This can barely be considered a movie when up against that. But quality superhero movies are still being made. So I continue to hold out hope. Logan came out this year and was fantastic! Once again this can't even be compared to Logan. Wonder woman was basically a fancy looking Pixar movie with a script that Pixar would never approve on the grounds of lacking quality.
I did manage to finally see a good movie today though. Baby Driver was great! It's serious but also has a great sense of humor and most all that humor does not seemed forced or crammed in (like it did with Wonder Woman). It has tons of fun action and I got totally lost in the story and characters. It's musical without being a musical. They do this really cool thing with the fighting scenes where the gunfire is timed to the beats of whatever song is playing. I thought that was a nice little touch. Back in April I saw Free Fire in the theater and Baby driver is exactly what I was hoping Free Fire would be. Baby Driver is a really fun, action packed summer flick that I highly recommend!

I'm aware. I said that this movie is trying to use the same framework that all Marvel movies go by. Trash story, overdone CGI (that in this case was worse than most Marvel movies), forced humor and very weak character development. They desperately want to compete with Marvel and I guess they think they can do that by simply copying what Marvel does.
I'm saying that it's an even worse ripoff of what marvel does like 15 times a year.
OK I can't believe I'm the first one to post about this, but I did a pretty thorough search, and it doesn't seem that this upcoming movie - which I saw a trailer for last night - has been mentioned.

The director has action chops with Bourne and John Wick. He is also the director of the next Deadpool.
Last night I saw "Wakefield". If you want to watch Bryan Cranston not go home for two hours, this is your movie.

I saw Alejandro Jodorowsky's "The Holy Mountain" last night. One of the oddest things I've ever seen, and that's saying a lot. I've heard about this film for years but never had a chance to see it.
Definitely wouldn't get an ASPCA approval these days. They blew up frogs as part of the re-enactment of the conquest of Mexico where the Aztecs were played by chameleons and the Spanish were played by frogs. Also a bunch of crucified flayed dogs.

Mostly sure. The filmmaker dropped acid during research before the film, and included an anti-acid segment during the quest for the Immortals.

Today Mrs. Bag and I saw "The Tale of Princess Kaguya". Animated Japanese fairy tale. Everyone in the theater was crying at the end. Screw you, Buddha.

It could go either way. IMO it's created some great TV, but at times it's forced and unfocused.
I guess he's done playing Bernie Sanders.
I'm actually looking forward to it.
