2017 Movie Madness

While The Dark Knight is one of my all time top 10 movies, it's not perfect. There are 2 flaws that have always stuck out to me and I was just reminded of one in a tweet.

The first is during the mob meeting where the Chinese mobster is on TV kinda Skyping in and it's clear there is no camera facing the group. There is no way the Chinese guy could be looking around the room at the different people talking like you see him do in the scene.

The second one is this:

Semi and Scotch can include those Star Trek films, if it in there top 10?

I narrowed it down to 12. If any of these are on anyone's list, you can take them off

The Adventures of Pricilla, Queen of the Desert
The Right Stuff
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn
Dumb And Dumber
About A Boy
A Field of Dreams
Diamonds Are Forever
This is Spinal Tap
Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back
Airplane!
Blade Runner
Happy Gilmore
Breakfast At Tiffany's

After going through your list.

Koop listed Star Wars V and Airplane
Aaron listed Breakfast At Tiffany's

But the good news is you listed 13 movies, minus the 3 above. You have your top 10 list.

Thank you for verifying and I'll post your list with the others sometime later today.

You can always vote for the one you have seen. There may be a reason you did not see the other one.

No. You can't judge a film unless you've seen it. Your reason for not seeing may be wrong and there's no way to know that unless you see it.

I disagree. Placing such a restriction greatly puts undo favour on somebody who sees a lot of movies vs someone who has bit. If you have seen one of the movies this is reason enough to be able to vote for or against it.

You can take off Happy Gilmore. That should put me at 10 after keeping Breakfast at Tiffany's and deleting Star Wars V and Airplane!

That must be the sequel: The Breakfast Club at Tiffanies.

Nice catch IRBS, I just saw Breakfast on Aaron list and thought He had Breakfast At Tiffany's.

They better not make a sequel or redo The Breakfast Club. That movie is just about perfect.

I just took Gilmore Girls Sad Gilmore off your list now and kept the other Breakfast movie, thanks guys.

I'm gonna add to all this positive momentum by actually posting my list of 10 movies

The Shining
Wall Street
Fargo
A Beautiful Mind
Cast Away
Office Space
Lost in America
Defending Your Life
Moscow on the Hudson
The World According to Garp

Well, that was easy. Now I think I'll go and lapse into a coma.

Thanks scotch, I'll post yours and semi later up today.

Thank you everybody for submitting your list early. I'll let the holiday weekend go and let everybody mind rest. You can still alternate your choice and somebody else can always join in the madness.

But we'll pick this back up after Labor Day, that when I'll post the voting threads. How the voting will work and don't worry it won't be all your choices in one thread. This weekend, I'll most likely take all 90 movies and mix them all up and post them in 9 separate voting threads here in the studio lounge.

I'm still figuring this out as we go along. I'll take the top 64 votes and put them in a bracket like how we did the music madness tournament.

Placing such a restriction greatly puts undo favour on somebody who sees a lot of movies vs someone who has bit.

So to avoid rewarding people for seeing movies we should use the opinion of people who have no basis for forming said opinion?

That will make this contest a travesty of a mockery of a sham.
