I never got to see The Martian either. There's a new Martian movie coming out soon The Space Between Us with Britt Robertson. Britt plays a young girl who falls in love with a Martian boy. I should have posted this on the space avatar

I just checked out the trailer, it looks good. To me it one of those movies, I rather watch at home then in theaters.

Big news and little news.

Little news: We saw "The Secret Life of Pets" last night at a special Victory pre-release screening. It was lame. We knew it was targeted at a young audience, but they usually try to throw something in for the parents. Not this time. I enjoyed "G-Force" (the guinea pig secret agent movie) more than this. Let that sink in.

Big news: I bought tickets to see "Tarzan" and "Finding Dory" this weekend, and that pushed me into the top tier of the Victory Program at the Alamo Drafthouse. I'm so proud of this achievement. If I had a tombstone I would want this inscribed on it. I will be cremated so that won't happen.

First Top Brass perk: free burger or pizza for moving up to the top tier. They have a Hatch green chile burger that is delicious. The chicken and chorizo pizza is also delicious.

I may see a 4k restoration of "Private Property", a sleazy noir B movie from 1960 starring Warran Oates, Sunday night at 10pm.

Warran Oates sounds like a gay gladiator film

Does anybody here watch the tv show BattleBots, it like one of my favorite shows. The show use to air back in the early 2000's and return last year. The new season started couple of weeks ago and now they are down to the final 32 field. I just watch the match between Minotaur vs Blacksmith and Minotaur tore up Blacksmith and set that robot on fire. Here an video of a fight between Ice Wave vs Razorback.

"The Legend of Tarzan" was great. Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson and Alexander Skarsgard are in it. All of them are fun to watch. They avoided doing yet another origin story movie, and they didn't use one of the Burroughs stories, although they included a bunch of details from the Burroughs stories if you are into those.

The original stories are deeply racist. The whole idea of Tarzan is pretty racist. They can't avoid that without casting a black guy as Tarzan, but they did the best they could. With a white Tarzan.

I had a good time watching it.

I saw The Secret Lives of Pets, the movie was cute mainly for kids. But I was ready to walk out halfway through the movie.

I wanted to see it but my sweets wanted to see Mike and Dave. Now I think she took her little sister to see it without me. She didn't specifically say they were going but I think they did. So i won't get to see it this wkd.

Maybe they'll make a sequel called The Secret Life of Pests

I saw "Private Property" at the Alamo last night. It's a sleazy B movie from 1960. Very much like a pulp paperback. Two drifters plot the seduction of an incredibly horny suburban housewife. The housewife was played by the wife of the director/writer. She committed suicide four years later. It was fascinating.
