G1 dock?

I'd assume they will have a presence at or near CES (allot of companies have a presence around but not AT the actual CES) since I read a post by RomeE or one of their other employee's about all they work they are doing to get ready for it.

And obviously with the Amazon G2 dock popping up they've got some new stuff coming soon. Again, I'd assume all for the G2 and nothing for the G1. As a G1 owner, I'm fine with that. It's a buggy, first-gen product (though usable with the latest firmware) they'd pretty much like to forget about.

I think you are right about them having some new stuff and I am also wondering if they are going to do anything to sweeten the Premium subscription too, I did read something he said about the possibility of that as well.

Like you as I G1 owner, I really don't expect any additional accessories and could care less one way or the other. I have used the car charger on the G1 and it works fine. That is really all I need! My only concern about my G1 is if it should fail that I could get them to exchange it for a replacement within the first year and they have already verified they will support it technically and warranty wise.

More off-topic (though maybe there will be a G1 dock announced?) about Slacker / CES confirming a presence from orbitcast.com:

I still read orbitcast but haven't forgotten his role in pushing the merger that destroyed the XM I loved. He was against it at first and then amazingly, overnight became it's biggest cheerleader. I guess he's helped save me some money each month so that's good!

I'm sure you noticed that was Jan 2008. The G1 was a flop, and they never produced anything as far as docks. Certainly the G1 is making a comeback due to the "clear out the warehouse" pricing, but you would be lucky to see a dock for a older generation device.

I'm actually thinking of returning my G2. I like the G1 alot.

OOC seems to think us G1 owners need to just quit dreaming and hoping for a little love from Slacker! Just the G2 owners should get some love!

It is too late for me to do that, but I can understand. The G1 has worked perfectly for me thus far. I like that big screen and text so much easier on the eyes. My ears hear no difference in SQ between the G1 and G2. The volume normalization seems unnecessary to me and I never use those cheesy equalizer settings which makes the music sound crappy. Heck I don't even mind the size of the unit. Width wise it is just a tad bit wider than my iPod Touch, of course thickness is another story, but it isn't bad.

I am thinking on ordering that premium case now and I didn't think I would bother.

I am just amazed at how many report issues with the G1 because I have now setup 4 of these babies and they have all worked perfectly with no problems.
