Ian Gomm released 12 singles in the UK but only three in the US . Hold On was his only US hit. His third and final US single was Here It Comes Again (That Feeling), which, oddly, was not released as a single in the UK.

Connie Stevens, best known for her 1960 top-ten hit Sixteen Reasons and her 1959 duet with Edd "Kookie" Byrnes, Kookie, Kookie (Lend Me Your Comb, was the first to record Betcha By Golly Wow. More than 60 artists have recorded the song and Stevens is the only artist to release it under a different title: Keep Growing Strong (which sounds like a alogan on an inspirational poster). Thom Bell, who co-wrote the song with Linda Creed, produced both Stevens' version and the Stylistics' version. A version by Prince reached #31 in December 1996. Among the others who have recorded the song are Johnny Mathis, Johnny Hartman, Freddie Hubbard, Aaron Neville, Dionne Warwick and the Miracles.
