Welcome to the club.
View attachment 4644

My sister-in-law (who has no self-control, rational thought, or conscience) got a King Charles calavier mix, and then realized that she doesn't have the time or capability to care for it. This is the 2nd consecutive dog she's done this with - the previous one ended up for adoption.

So my mother-in-law (who has full-blown Holocaust survivor syndrome) took-in the dog, as has been caring for him, as you can see. Two years ago, he suffered partial paralysis, but eventually recovered about 50%. She makes chicken for him everyday. I have begged her to "just give him dog food" until I'm blue in the face, but to no avail.
I have a sad update to this. Yesterday, after exhibiting clear signs of intestinal damage, my mother-in-law's dog died, before she could get him to the vet. He was 10. So now she's lost her husband, their dog, and a son-in-law so far this year.

Sorry to hear, Scotch.
Hopefully you're able to spend some more time with her.
She joined the senior center in York, so now she comes up on Friday mornings to play mah-jong. We drop her off there and sit on the beach until she's done. She plays mah-jong at other places on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Between the construction, the passing of her father, and the finish work, Mrs. Scotch has kept her schedule fairly open. So she gets together with her mom a few times a week.

That sucks man, :(, sorry.

That's sweet Scotch.

Couple months ago I laid out some sod in my backyard and it’s looking great. Plus my little girl loves laying in it.

Now I’m working on a new project which I started this weekend. I’m installing a pond and waterfall which I can only work on in the morning for a couple of hours before the heat kicks in.

I basically have the general layout done, besides redoing my riverwalk and bark landscape. The hole partially dug and should be completed sometime by end of the week. The ground so hard and I'm only digging up a few inches. Then I'll lay out some liner, install a pump and insert water and it should be fully completed.

I currently have weed cloth over the hole to keep my dog out of the dirt, you know dogs love playing in the dirt.

Nice! Are you following a plan, or just improvising?

Thanks, this is the design plan I was going by.

It still pretty close, but now I go with the flow and tweaked couple of things. I wanted more of a curved design but my backyard has a lot of bricks and just simply stuck to that design. Plus I just wanted to get this project done in middle of the dry heat summer.

I was able to get quite a bit done tonight with the heat somewhat going down at night and plus some monsoon storms rolling in. Now I just need to dig couple more areas at the bottom and smooth out the sides. The pond is roughly 3’ x 6’ and about 5” to 6” deep.

Sometime this week I’ll smooth out some areas and layout the liner. Finish rearranging the dry river stones and fill up the pond this week and next weekend I’ll buy a pump for the waterfalls. Then everything will be completed and I can enjoy it more in the winter with my fire pit.

Hey that copyright material you are messing with. I see you twisted the waterfall around to create a head.

That is pretty funny and since it’s anything goes week. I’ll change my avatar later tonight when I get home.

To me it kinda looks a character either from Sesame Street or The Muppets.

The past couple of days the Phoenix area was getting some bad monsoon storms. Today there was finally a break in the weather and I was finally able to finish the pond and laid out the liner.

Now I’ll work on the landscape design around it and fix up the waterfall this weekend. Sometime next week it will finally be working I just need to by the pump and some extension cords.

You quickly made a bunch of progress. It's starting to look a lot more like a waterfall/fountain now.
