I use a drip brewer, too, a Bonavita 1800. It's very fast. The coffee is ready by the time I finish warming up the oatmeal.

I grind the beans while I put the filter in the basket. The beans are Ethiopian Harrar (well, sometimes Limu or Amhara now, Harrar is getting scarce), roasted (by me) to just before the end of first crack.

I have no idea why people leave their house to sit in a drive-thru line for 10 minutes, when they can have a whole pot of better coffee in less time. The coffee I make at home is brewing while I finish getting ready to leave, so it's only the 3 - 5 minutes it takes to get it going that counts.

I'm not a coffee drinker. But I agree, I seen people standing in line or at the drive up waiting for a long time for a coffee and they can easily brew one up at home.

Here in Phoenix, their coffee chain call Dutch Bros that has been around for a few years now I believe. But anyway, they use a double drive-up and they are still backed up for miles. There as popular as Starbucks or more. I have been to Dutch couple of times when the drive up is not busy to order a drink similar which is similar to Jamba Juice.

I used to make espresso at home. That's just a huge pain in the ass. When I drank espresso I would gladly wait and pay someone else to clean the equipment and pack the grounds and all of that effort for a tiny cup of coffee.

These days I'm not so fond of espresso. It's a cheat. It was invented to speed up the brewing process and relies on cooking most of the flavor out of the beans.

Ahh, that's it, you roast your own beans. We're fortunate to have the region's best coffee roasters 10 minutes from us.

So yesterday I tried the Popeyes chicken sandwich that everyone is going nuts over. I swear the Popeyes I eat at has been selling them for months, but the internet says it's only been weeks.

It's better than Chick-fil-A, but that's not saying much. Chick-fil-A is bland, soggy and buttery. Popeyes has a little more flavor, is crispy, is bigger, has better bread, but still buttery. Not a fan of butter chicken. Popeyes regular chicken and tenders are much better than the sandwich.

It's also huge. I bought two because I didn't want a side and figured it would be small for $4, but I ended up throwing most of the 2nd one away.

My wife and I like KFC – and we will definitely not be trying the new Beyond Vegan meatless wings and nuggets that KFC is testing in Atlanta and may introduce nationally:

My boss at work always insisted Church's has the best fried chicken. We tried Church's only one time. Let's just say we did not agree with my boss.

Crazy reports of people suing Popeyes for running out of the chicken sandwiches.

My local place hasn't run out yet. Had one a few days ago, it was pretty satisfying.
I should have sold it on eBay though.

It's a chicken sandwich worth storming the place to get:
