Best #1 Song of the 70s - I like this, although IRBS would do his "I didn't listen to music until '77" shtick (we're the same age, and I go back to '69), and sadchild would have a lot of ???, plus Koop and Wolf would either skip it or pass a lot.

Best #1 Song of the 90s - I love music from the '90s, but the top 40 was already getting pretty horrible by then. So I don't know about this.

Best Instrumentals - I assume these would have to be songs that made the Billboard pop charts, otherwise I could list a thousand pieces nobody has heard of.

Favorite Various Musician Categories - This could be good; drummer, lead singer, guitarist. There would be a lot of arguing.

Favorite Various TV Show Categories - I like this, but I see 2 problems: 1) Some of us go back to the 50s and 60s, but others don't; 2) people like sadchild don't watch TV.

Movie Soundtracks - This would probably work.

Music Videos - In order to do this, the videos would have to be posted.

I'm may not be familiar with that era, but I been expanding my 70s music. I would try and listen to every competing song and determine if I vote for it or skip. I would do it similar like how the "Best #1 Song of the 80s" with the top billboard songs. I would be more familiar with that type of music.

Favorite Various Musician and TV Show Categories would be similar to Cartoon Characters Madness when we had four categories from Fox, Disney, Hanna Barbara/Looney Tunes and Leftovers.

Musicians - would be lead vocalists, guitarists, drummers, bassists, pianists, etc.

TV Shows - Sci-Fi, Action, Thrillers, Comedy, Drama, Reality TV, etc.

The other day, I was thinking of possible ideas for the next theme. Along with possibly revisiting couple of old themes to see if the defending champs can survive.

Alcohol #2
Candy / Candy Bars
Chips / Potato Chips
Fast Food #2

Any other similar theme idea above. The next madness will be sometime in June.

The Beatles' name is misspelled so I don't know if they would count – but there are other rock groups named after insects: Papa Roach, Moth, Locust, Silkworm, Spider, Centipede, Crickets, Katydids, Kingbees, Fireflies, Scorpions, Iron Butterfly, Adam & The Ants, The Bird & The Bee and Alien Ant Farm,

Could Tiny Tim be count as a insect?

He could easily tiptoe to the top of the madness.

We could do the eighteen-nineties. Combining sheet music sales with sales charts and data from ASCAP and record industry publications Phonograph and Phonoscope, there were 93 number-one songs in the 1890s. Among the best-known:

A Hot Time In The Old Town – Len Spencer
After The Ball – George J. Gaskin
Hello! Ma Baby – Len Spencer
My Country 'Tis Of Thee – Jules Levy
My Old Kentucky Home – Edison Male Quartette
My Wild Irish Rose – Albert Campbell
On The Banks Of The Wabash – Steve Porter
Semper Fidelis – United States Marine Band
Sweet Rosie O'Grady– George J. Gaskin
Ta-Ra-Ra-Boom Der E – Len Spencer
The Band Played On – Dan Quinn
The Stars & Stripes Forever – John Philip Sousa Band
Washington Post March – John Philip Sousa Band
Yankee Doodle – Vess Ossman
