In the United States, there have now been 123,750 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 2,227 deaths. Tonight the CDC placed New York, New Jersey and Connecticut under a 14-day travel advisory, urging residents to "refrain from non-essential domestic travel." More than half the United States' coronavirus cases are in those three states. Worldwide, there have been 663,748 confirmed cases and 30,880 deaths.

It was too late. I was holding out hope of working over wifi but that simply isn't possible with the equipment they give you.

My plan is to sit around for a week and then get out there and look for a job. The boss said she may be able to hire me back when everyone goes back to the office but I'm not going to depend on that alone. I've been a manager for like 18 months now, I can get another gig.
On the bright side, you won't have to worry about running into the ex.

This should keep 98 preoccupied till the end.

I don't know how reliable the numbers are, but I don't think that any of the numbers that we see are accurate anyway.

Wait, do you mean the end of the coronavirus or the end of (Gulp!) me? The coronavirus death toll in the United States is now 2,413 and Nancy Pelosi is not too happy with the man who told us on January 22, "We have it totally under control. It's one person coming in from China. We have it under control. It's going to be just fine."

Hahaha, poor Fauci, he can't do right by everybody I guess. I was at Santa anita with my grandpa on march 8th. It should be closed down. No big crowds, but the place is full of old folks.

Why didn't you come by and say hello? Oh yeah, that's right....."social distancing."

In the 18 months ending December 31, 56 horses died at Santa Anita. Eight have died this year. On March 12, Santa Anita was closed to spectators, reporters and bettors. It's now closed completely. I hope it stays closed. Far too many horses are dying.

Is anyone else who is staying home every day starting to feel a bit like the Groundhog Day movie? I mean I almost expect to be woken up to the tune of I Got You Babe.

Not yet. Every day has been a bit different so far. Today I got on a video conference at 11:30 that lasted till 4:30. I thought it was only going to be an hour.... It was kinda fun, and good to talk to people "face to face", but it was exhausting.

Businesses nationwide have been hurt by the coronavirus pandemic. Unemployment claims are at an all-time high. Amazon today fired a New York City warehouse worker who led a strike of more than 60 employees demanding safer working conditions. Airbnb is allocating $250 million to help offset the losses of hosts whose guests have canceled bookings because of the coronavirus pandemic. And then there's Macy's.

The CEcO of Texas Roadhouse did the right thing, even if it is a marketing stunt. He’s not getting paid or any bonuses for the rest of the year and is sending his pay to their front-line employees. Hopefully the Macy’s leadership does something similar, even if it’s to help pay for furloughed employees insurance longer.
